This is interesting to me. Especially that last tree. Im on the east coast and we are taught to bore cut almost everything. Im not so sure a bore cut would have worked on that tree. It more than likely would have sat down hard after boring out the center. I like the way you cut the upper wood first to sit it down away from the house. Thanks for the video on this. Really got me thinking. 😊

I'm no professional but I find small wonky trees to be the most difficult. Little to no room for wedges and they always seem to have dog-legs and corkscrews and twists and bends, uneven crowns, and whatever else going on. Very technical cutting. Thanks for the ongoing education, Buck!
@dgoodman148410 ай бұрын
Same here. That one was probably big enough but any smaller and if there is any doubt especially around structures and I take that time to tie in a maasdam before I start cutting. To late to be walking a line out once you started cutting the small ones

Good morning, Buckin! Love your content brother and been subscribed for a few years so thank you for all the knowledge you have passed to me and others about all things saws and tree cuttin. You're the reason i got more into saws, and trying my hand at porting them so thanknyou sir! I'm about to buy my first "new" chainsaw and have looked and a few new saws. Some sihl's like the ms391,ms362 and ms462 and some husky's,the husqvarna 372xp, 572xp. But then i seen this little monster of a saw and it peaked my interest. Now im not a professional just a home owner but the price is right and the performance looks amazing for what it is. Now i have 3 saws but one is about to give up the ghost,its a 032 and it needs a totally rebuild and the other one is a husqvarna grey top 61 that i put a 272 top end on but im still workingnout the bugs on. Those were my grandpa's. Then i have a ms250 which was my dads saw. Anyways I've watched every video you have one this saw and i like what see. We have a big ole chestnut oak that blew down that im in the process of cutting it up but the other day the 032 about gave up the ghost so i quit using it so im in need of a all around saw to cut that tree up and be able to do multiple things so do you think the 562xp mark2 will cut the mustard?

That 562 is running very well! You are trying to teach a trade via KZbin and explain principles however, as you did in this video, sometimes experience tells you when and where you should break from the normal way you do it. You my friend have so much time behind the saw that you have a feeling and oneness with the saw and the tree you are cutting. I find that looking up is tough because I wanna make sure I am not cutting too much off and have a tendency to not look up enough. Also, people have also said that between each wedge bang you ought to look up as well. Even that field tree shakes quite a bit when you hit the wedge way up high. Thank you for the videos and reminders. Always watching and learning from you. Knowing what to do and executing is the difficult part at times.

Outside of my opinion of Stihl saws better and more reliable then Husky(I’ll never be convinced there is a better saw than the MS500i based on power and weight ratio along with the MS261CM) but a cleaned out undercut is probably one of the most important parts of felling a tree. It’s so under utilized and under appreciated in the biz.

15:48 Thanks for informative videos as always. I'm a beginner that have learned a lot from your videos (everything I know tbh). I would have guessed you started from the other end to keep as much holding wood as possible on the high side. Just to guarantee the tree wouldnt leave towards the house but also start a swing to the side from the low side. Would be interesting to learn more about felling these kind of trees to the side of a heavy lean.

Would this 562 make a good saw for the farm / ranch? I'm looking for a good saw that can clear large oaks here in Texas but also something that can be used to process a lot of firewood year after year for heating a home. 70% of the trees here are medium size oaks but we do get a handful of large ones ,30" trunks, that need to be cutup for firewood often. I'm debating on this saw or stepping up to a 70CC saw like the 572. And, thanks for actually taking the time to care about us and teaching us how to do this properly so we can avoid injury, it shows you care about your fellow human being. God bless!
