If I ever did do this which I probably won't .I would split the car lengthwise and widen the entire stance of the car. because I would want the wheels to tuck under the fender Wells . I hate flares. Besides that. I think it would look pretty badass to have a wider stance. And to be lower to the ground. widen the entire car probably about 15 in. Use lexan plastic for front and back windows .🇺🇲

I agree 100% seems it would

I agree 100%, you wrote what I was thinking. Also he’s added width to other cars and it would look sweet to be wider and lower.

lexan is crappy for a windshield on a road car/daily. I'd widen and use the newer windshield.....all those ld cars were way too small for me anyways

It is great that you got the Mustang body setting on the modern chassis. Keep up the amazing effort and I am looking forward to the continued build on this Mustang. I hope that you can get the trimming all figured out. I know that it is not easy to get it bonded together to fit right. The windshield will be a challenging area to get to fit right. Hopefully you will get it to work out without any hiccup's. Have a blessed week.
@navigatingthedestination2 жыл бұрын
Awsome job. 👍 I seen a 67 mustang fast back put on a modern mustang. The guy widened the mustang 1 inch on both sides in the quarter panels doors and fenders and was able to keep the windshield. He put on a eleanor mustang fender flare kit and ran side exhaust to hide the rockers.
@johnwhitehurst4742 жыл бұрын
The rocker panels on the 65 Mustang is two pieces, you can remove the inner piece, giving you a lot of room. Suggest plasma torch, then drill out spot wells. Rocker panel on the new car you cut it open and a lot of it off as you have, put in a piece of steel for support and you can cut the wide part off under the rockers so it does not look stupid. You can weld them together under the car.. Spot weld them above of course. Wind shield frame split add a piece, split and move inner for the windshield glass. Tilt 65 mustang down in front and slide it on instead of force, then you can see better what needs to be trimmed.

I was worried when you started this swap. Because everyone of these swaps I have seen done looks like crap. the 64 just doesn't fit on the newer Mustang. It just doesn't look like it belongs their. It’ll be hard to line things up but if you jack up the new mustang while fitting the old body on it it’ll let the suspension droop while you do your final fitments. Also if your wheel wells allow it, get high positive offset wheels so you can run a big tire and a wide tire with it all fitting in the well. You do realize that cutting the rockers out is like removing the frame. Welding the old body on the floor (won't even call it a rolling chassis) will not replace the strength you've removed.
@CaseysCustoms2 жыл бұрын
You do realize you can add strength back in right? “Will not replace the strength you’ve removed” is laughable 😂😂
@ryanc32192 жыл бұрын
Clearly you can't read either. Welding the shell to the floor won't replace the strength. If you think that's laughable, clearly you have no concern for peoples safety or its a lack the knowledge. You are going to need to add a considerable about strength back under that so it doesn't taco. There's very little strength to that shell.
