Lol I haven’t trusted a fart in years. I feel like when I attempt this same swap I’m gonna cut the car down the middle and deal with patching the roof trunk and hood later. Then the Wheels could be tucked in and It could sit low. Also this channel is so underrated

I was thinking the same thing. Widening the body would save more of the structural strength of the newer Mustang. And the tires would be tucked in. 😁

Set of with gauges for transferring measurements - Cut and label a set of 2x2's for internal widths of old body at strategic points, so you can compare them to the new chassis with lots of continual measuring

It is great that you got the Mustang body setting on the modern chassis. Keep up the amazing effort and I am looking forward to the continued build on this Mustang. I hope that you can get the trimming all figured out. I know that it is not easy to get it bonded together to fit right. The windshield will be a challenging area to get to fit right. Hopefully you will get it to work out without any hiccup's. Have a blessed week.

Takes guts to take a job like this on and keep hammering thru. I wonder, is the dashboard way too high up for this? Its poking thru the windshield now, and you still need like 5" to lower it more. You'll figure it out. I like it

You do realize that cutting the rockers out is like removing the frame. Welding the old body on the floor (won't even call it a rolling chassis) will not replace the strength you've removed.

You do realize you can add strength back in right? “Will not replace the strength you’ve removed” is laughable 😂😂
@ryanc3219
@ryanc3219 2 жыл бұрын
Clearly you can't read either. Welding the shell to the floor won't replace the strength. If you think that's laughable, clearly you have no concern for peoples safety or its a lack the knowledge. You are going to need to add a considerable about strength back under that so it doesn't taco. There's very little strength to that shell.

I was worried when you started this swap. Because everyone of these swaps I have seen done looks like crap. the 64 just doesn't fit on the newer Mustang. It just doesn't look like it belongs their. Cutting it up and putting back together is the only way to make it look like it came that way. But that's going to be a craze amount of work. what ever you decide to do I am sure it will look right because you are the best body swap guy on the internet. Thanks for the great content

Awsome job. 👍 I seen a 67 mustang fast back put on a modern mustang. The guy widened the mustang 1 inch on both sides in the quarter panels doors and fenders and was able to keep the windshield. He put on a eleanor mustang fender flare kit and ran side exhaust to hide the rockers.

If I ever did do this which I probably won't .I would split the car lengthwise and widen the entire stance of the car. because I would want the wheels to tuck under the fender Wells . I hate flares. Besides that. I think it would look pretty badass to have a wider stance. And to be lower to the ground. widen the entire car probably about 15 in. Use lexan plastic for front and back windows .🇺🇲

Why not Widen the 1965 Body it would have taken a lot less time and you would not have taken so much strength out of the New Chassis you can still use the Old Body just widen it down the Center and weld it to the Rocker Panels you can get Lexan for the Windshield and Rear window it is Street Legal and cheaper than cutting the new Mustang up if you would do this you save time and time is Money , just a suggestion

These new bodies are all way to wide, it would work with a later Challenger ,Cuda, GTO or Chevy Impala, all the lage Muscles. These old Mustang Coupes ware way to slick and narrow. At the End one always have to widen them at the wheels so much.

Not worth looking at widening the line on the top of your fenders and doors an 1 1/2" to get the width you need? at least there would be no glass or dash problems is all I am thinking AND if it wasn't pointed out many would not even notice with a cursory glance! just a thought.

The rocker panels on the 65 Mustang is two pieces, you can remove the inner piece, giving you a lot of room. Suggest plasma torch, then drill out spot wells. Rocker panel on the new car you cut it open and a lot of it off as you have, put in a piece of steel for support and you can cut the wide part off under the rockers so it does not look stupid. You can weld them together under the car.. Spot weld them above of course. Wind shield frame split add a piece, split and move inner for the windshield glass. Tilt 65 mustang down in front and slide it on instead of force, then you can see better what needs to be trimmed.

If you need any pointers or guidence on this project, take a look at B if for Builds channel. Chris acutally did the old to new Mustang body swap twice, but the first one was seised by the lawyers behind Gone in 60 Seconds for copywrite infringment. Complete bullshit... That one was going to be done up real nice, the second one he built was built in the rat rod style. Really dope build and channel.

It would speed up the process of raising & lowering car bodies if you were to replace those endless chain blocks with small, 12 volt or electric winches. Not only faster each side but, you could raise & lower both sides at the same time, once you got the hang of using them.

Sorry to sound like a knob but it looks like you should take the dash out to make your life easier. Also with the rear wheel lining up with the arch it looks like the bottom of the windscreen is going to be somewhere in your dash. Perhaps it's the height of the body which makes others do the 6 inch skirts? Anyway you've accomplished more than me even with the trots.
