Just angle some sheet metal on each side and and have a friend weld them in so the rain exits like it’s suppose to.
@DebtLife_Projects2 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinkin, or maybe like someone else commented, shape a screen there the way I want, them fiberglass over it, I'll come up with something clean though 🤘

I think you need the cut more for motor torquing.
@DebtLife_Projects2 жыл бұрын
Idk if it will torque enough to hit with a half inch of clearance with solid motor mounts, but we will see

Kickass video. Quick question what engine bay clean up mods have you done?
@605BOLT2 жыл бұрын
Surprisingly large hole right there. Will you be able to preserve wipers? Be nice if possible but idk what all is in there.
@DebtLife_Projects2 жыл бұрын
I forgot to mention that, but yup, wipers will work as usual. It barely touches the wiper linkage, so I bent the linkage up just ever so slightly, and it works fine. Most won't have to even do that, but the .5 inch manifold spacers put everything up higher, and made things difficult for me lol
@605BOLT2 жыл бұрын
@@DebtLife_Projects good deal.
@theoneandonlysid2 жыл бұрын
Love the build and progress man. If I had to do this to my lightning I would box in all that area like hot rodders do for clearance, then paint inside and out of it. That separates the cowl from the engine bay and keeps water from causing you issues.
@DebtLife_Projects2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate it! Yeah, I'll figure something out, it's a process, but I'll make it clean in the end somehow!

Any chance you have a vacuum diagram for the swap?
@DebtLife_Projects Жыл бұрын
I don't, but I'll go over it in my next video. Pretty much same as stock. Iac and drivers side pcv goes before throttle body. Passenger valve cover and vacuum harness into side of blower. Boost reference to the midplate. Pretty much it

HI. MY FRIEND. 😁👌 looking good. I think. You can. FIRST PUT SOME MESCH SCREEN. AND Used fiberglass. On top of the cut., you just made. From the inside. Of the cowl.. hope. It works for you. Just. A little advice.. good. Luck. Whit. Your RED DEVIL. 😁🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👌

Yeah I hear ya, I didn't want to at first either, but my trucks so far from stock, it doesn't matter lol. Plus resale value only matters if you sell it, I never will!

@@DebtLife_Projects I wish I never sold mine, one of the few I wish I had-a kept. Get all this done and then work that suspension some more and it should grip and get.

i bet with your skills with sheet metal you could easily ,With OUT Welding, cut some pieces to box in that hole and Rivet the sheet metal with body panel glue to the wiper cowl.

@jamesparkerfpv4352 жыл бұрын
Be advised. Engine when under load will slightly lift and supercharger may require more clearance. definitely have a buddy power brake and do some throttle snaps in drive and reverse while you check clearance to firewall. looking forward to more!

Yeah I figured that too. Solid mounts will help with that, but still got some testing to do, but I'll get it worked out!

Looks killer bro I’m currently in the process of doing the same thing I had a question for you if you don’t mind do you know what police set up you’re going to run for the upper and lower how much boost you’re planning on making?
@DebtLife_Projects2 жыл бұрын
Still going back and forth with that. From what I've heard, 6lb lower and 2.6 upper is alittle past the max recommended, so I'm starting with that lol 😅 we will see what happens.
@KwikSC2 жыл бұрын
@DebtLife_Projects 6lb lower with a 2.6 upper puts you WELL past the Max RPM of the TVS. Ask Chris Conrad what 27+psi does to a TVS.. Along with potentially wasting your blower the excess heat is gonna kill your power output. Go with an 8lb 3.0 pulley and you'll see 22+psi as I do. ESPECIALLY with that JLT intake and Monster Throttle Body.
@DebtLife_Projects2 жыл бұрын
@@KwikSC also gotta remember, chris was running a 10lb/2.6 combo on a Tyler adapter plate. The Tyler (tarlock) plates were known to flex, even on very lightly pullied setups. JC plate is much thicker and stronger. I know several close friends running 8lb/2.6 setups, and more pulley, with no issues. Heat will be combated with a progressive snow meth kit or a small wet shot. I'll be tuning and watching intake temps, so I'll be able to adjust as needed as far as that goes.
@thastinger3452 жыл бұрын
@@KwikSC Do you just leave the 10 rib TVS pulley on and run the 8 rib OEM belt setup?
@KwikSC2 жыл бұрын
@DebtLife_Projects the flex never happened to me. I ran a 6lb/3.0 for a few years on Tylers plate with zero issues despite me flogging the shit out of it on the dyno. The only time i had any failure of a midplate was when i tried to run 18psi on a stripper_steve plate using an m122 and the plate seperated itself from the welds at 6000rpms.. HOWEVER, swapping from a 6lb to an 8lb pulley also netted us no increase in power despite me running e85 and a killer chiller on the JPS/JCC plate. Good luck on the 8.0/2.6 bud. I truly hope it works out. If it does i may pulley up when i swap intakes. I suspect my intake may be an issue in keeping power down as im running a stock gt500 currently and these TVS's absolutely LOVE TO BE FED AIR.
@3500camarz2 жыл бұрын
Are you going to weld a plate there? I feel that it looks unfinished if you leave it like that. I would have a fab shop weld in a plate there and for sure it will look factory from Ford.

I'll figure something out, trust the process, whatever I come up with will look clean when I'm done for sure!

I feel like if I were to cut my lower cowl panel like that I would have cut slits into it and then hammered it into shape. I know you said you aren't a welder but it would be cleaner than smashing it right into place. Neat swap so far. Can't wait to see this thing going.
