The intercooler is a good mod but is it shrouded by the oem parts? I have the trick intercooler but now wondering if I should have done something more like maybe a new midplate etc.

Stock midplate is fine for most, unless your trying to go max effort, then a jc midplate would be the move, or port the stock one like I did. But it's not huge, your trick intercooler was still a great mod, even with the stock midplate.

I love seing someone else go throgh the same issues that I have. I finally ran the truck late last year and have gone from 16 seconds to 11.9 this year. Suspension and traction is the hardest thing to get right with a Lightning.

The only way to beat a catfish camaro is a 150 shot on top and a set of hoosier daddies drag pack, another thing, swap the trans asap , the 4r100s out of the ole 7.3 was slapped in to "make it work" a t56 tremec or a 6 speed sequential would double the butt dyno feel.

I am curious. How many HPs does this add or how does this increase performance? RE: I thought a cold air intake sucked cold air from the bottom of the car. The last thing one would want to do is suck warm air in from on top the engine and under the hood. If I am wrong in some way, please correct me. I am thinking about doing this mod.

What are your thoughts on the series systems that both JLP and WMS sell? I see you went parallel so figuring you had reasons to do it that way as it is a bit harder to build.

@@thastinger345 sorry took so long, hurricane prep in full effect lol. The in series systems are perfectly fine for most. I went parallel just for a tiny bit of redundancy, my local guru prefers it, so that's what I did. He's built record trucks so I trust his methodology. Parallel wasn't too much harder, just extra hose in the way for plug changes lol. But for most, I'd say just snag a pre built in series system

@@DebtLife_Projects I decided to go parallel with an E85 tune option for race days. All PTFE hose, Fore hat/128mm filter/regulator/fuel rails with ID1050X injectors. 10 supply and 8 return. I'll feel better with a parallel system.

Man, love the videos and the work you have done! I'm hesitant to do the turkey pan mod much less pulling the engine! I have done in on my Z06 and it is ok I suppose although not my favorite thing. You have the advantage of practicing all the blower removal etc. I'd like to do follow your lead and use the Cobra or a 2650 supercharger but my dream would also be a new 10 speed auto swap. I don't see anyone doing it. The oem trans is actually very good, well matched and pleasant as a daily driver.

So mine stalls when I come to a stop and won’t start unless I have my foot on the gas but anyways my question is you said when you turn on the a/c it would make the rpm drop dramatically cause that’s also a problem even when I am giving it gas

I have really enjoyed this guys videos. You have same numbers I had with 6lb lower stock upper. What other mods do you have? Your level is the best daily driver IMHO. I went to a kenne bell and ported heads, built motor: have solid 100hp increasw across the curve 515 rwhp, 570 torque w/stock cams, full bolt ons but the Eaton felt better and was much more fun to drive. I'll take the Eaton with 440 rwhp over a kenne bell with 500rwhp. On pump gas we might see 600 rwhp with kenne bell but not a reliable daily driver. The kenne bell vacuum bypass sucks it is like a light switch. Killer on rainy days, boost comes on when you don't want it nor need it. With the Eaton you can stay out of boost and still move along briskly. Maybe Whipple is better for control but to do over again I would go with the gt500 Eaton or 2650. I still might one day. They tell you up to 800 rwhp with the kenne bell but carefully leave out that you need race gas above maybe high 500's. The traffic, around town, part throttle and cruising the Eaton wins 200% hands down. Plus kenne bell front cover leaked from day one. Still, I like the kb guys they seem like ok dudes.

@ as far as I know the truck is completely stock besides a K&N intake with lager MAF bigger lower pulley and tune. It also has a fully built Level 10 Transmission. I have paperwork on the truck. It is very fast and awesome daily. Just sucks in the rain if you slip a little to much on the gas

Great video..iam about to buy a red 01 lightning with 120k on it but it’s all Stock , that’s what i want I could’ve got another one with mods but i Didn’t. I plan on doing all the maintenance you mentioned. I just want a reliable lighting that will last for another 120k great vid again..👍

Sound good my friend .😉👍The ford lightning 5.4 supercharged make 380hp factory .whit 2stage cam 2aem fuel pumps, better rods arp main, forged pistons hi vol oil pump and ported heads and super supercharged you can easily make 550 hp.to 600 whit nitro.

Everything. Fully forged bottom end, ported/built heads, cams, ect. Set up and rated for 1200hp, the stock blower is the limitation here, for sure.

@@LandonsBuildz 485hp/560tq is pretty good for the little stock blower on 93. Stock blower is a small, heat pump, and has its limits. Plus, they only make 330-350whp stock, so that's 135-155 more hp I was able to squeeze out of the stock blower 🤷♂️

@@adambaker7451 Ford made Lightnings well before the current EV and they had a completely different purpose. The Ford SVT Lightning was two generations of performance oriented, muscle trucks. 1st Gen Lightning (1993-1995) came with a 351 Windsor V8, 2nd Gen (1999-2004) with a 5.4 Supercharged V8, along with other performance additions. They were a very limited production, with special badging/build numbers, and all purposed for collecting/racing.
