I would do a high power run over a known distance or time with the stock grille and then with the grill removed and compare the IATs over ambient to see how restrictive the grill really is and if it's worth removing or cutting up.

looks good but yes you need the mesh on the lower not only to keep the flow of the look of the upper but to help protect the lower section of intercooler from debris and possible damage. Great job for 1st time.

Should have saved money and cut the top as well. Also you should cut the bottom from the back end to avoid those tabs from showing.

Painting the heat exchanger black would probably make it retain some of the heat. It might even make things a little hotter to begin with.

I think it will have a more finished look adding the mesh. I feel painting or wrapping your GT350 hood in red will look more factory since it appears that's the direction your heading with your Stangs look of course excluding the Predator and all the other go fast mods. I'm still amazed how far you've taken your Mustang. Great job Zander!

If you painted the heat exchanger, I would only do the top portion, since it shows partially in the larger opening. It will look more classy, IMO. I’d let it show in the lower portion.

Did you face any surging, hiccups due to opened grille sort of thing? My car runs ugly and I couldn't get the car steady on sweep Rev! I've got Odin with cirvinie with some other goodies

Yes. I ended up getting MAF surge. I fixed it with a piece of cardboard in the intake box blocking some of the airflow. It didn’t hurt performance which was good

@@Zander13Productions appreciate your reply sir, I'm guessing that you have blocked the snorkel from the inside where the air cone sits completely or partially? When I made my air box closed even from the top I started getting the P0111 and sometimes P2119! I thought it's more of tuning related since the P061A would pop up suddenly but I might take this seriously and try to make the car read more of happy MAF without any turbulence. Always informative and helpful to all platforms. Keep up the good work.

I would not put any paint on that intercooler. Hey next time you have that front clip off consider putting on a tow hook. Check out the ZL1 Add Ons hook. Keep up the good work my friend the car is tits and ass.

I got my mesh from Custom Car grills. I cut my upper and lower grill myself and installed the mess. I also took the same mesh and installed on my Shelby American Super Snake hood to match. www.customcargrills.com
