Nice job. I’ve had incredibly good results with spray cans as long as I use spraymax 2k for the clear coat. I even spray painted the front bumper on my 911 and no one knows unless I tell them 🤣

I welded mine and it turned out amzing, i highly suggest anyone doing this to weld the seam

Also, I think you steered me away from those hard motorsports fenders. I am looking for rear flares for my S54 swapped touring but I think I’m going to end up getting cut outs from a stock M3. Everything else seems to be a bit of a compromise after watching this. Thanks for showing us the real details of both of these cause they make them look 100% perfect on their websites.

Rather get M3 fenders..I also thought of those plastic and fibre glass fenders but reviews have not been great..I'm building 330i sedan with M3 body plus supercharger

@@marlonbaird6070 I ended up buying a set of carbon fenders made in Hungary. Just received them after a long wait and have high expectations for them. They’re made to work with the OE M3 hood, headlights, etc. I’ll make a video of the process next month as I’m pretty excited to get them on. Not sure what I’ll do for the back yet, but baby steps. @@marlonbaird6070 m3projekts. They run about 1500 shipped depending on exchange rate. I haven’t gotten a chance to test fit them yet unfortunately, hoping for early next month. For the back, I’m not entirely sure yet but most likely cutout flares from a donor car.

Totally welding the seam is a great move. I love coupes ! The firms t on these manufactured parts is a pain for sure ! I feel like you should make your own carbon over fenders it would be a great series for this car and the firm ent would be perfect

This is gonna sounds funky but if you hear fiberglass with a heat gun you can form it better. Sounds like it wont work but it does.

Im planning on custom building the body of the e46 from alot of carbon fibre sheets from a buddy of mine. My thinking is to have the old bumpers and fenders as a platform then build them up to the shape I like and then creating the carbon fibre moulds from that.

Do the bushings too in the rear. It should make a ton of difference and help the ride

I would seam seal before paint or E-coat/epoxy primer, seam seal, then paint.
