In this episode, I bought sight unseen supposedly a really nice car. A 1996 BMW E36 328i finished in Arctic silver over beautiful Safran leather interior. The car has an interesting history as the first owner was an actual princess. We also do a round-up and update on all of the projects.

Fun fact: in The Netherlands cars from the royal household were painted in a special blue color. When these cars were sold of they had to be repainted as that special color was reserved for the royal household. Not sure if that is still the case or that Belgium has a similar policy.

Well, that might explain the actual color not matching the color code naming under the bonnet. This really looks like Aspen Silber instead of Arctic. (I've had a E39 and E38 in Aspen silber so i've seen that color quite frequently 😄)

@@jorgex1604 I see no Aspensilber in this E36... It's too dark grey and has no hint of purple lavender metallic in the sun... (I've had a 1998 e39 in Aspensilber for 10 years and I'm still bitter for selling it...) Aspen would also be an interesting color for a royal especially in combination with Aubergine leather, but perhaps the princess wanted the yellow leather and the color table in the buying guide probably discouraged a combo of yellow leather & Aspensilber... Also on the topic of combos, how about this yellow leather and Dakargelb? :-D

E36 is peak BMW era for me. I had several (including the M3 Evo). Personally I feel the 4 door has the best proportions and I'm glad to see one on the channel. You'll need to add the exhaust trims to your list of parts needed too. They used to get stolen all the time around here. Not sure why unless it was because they would corrode and then get loose.

All of these cars are so historical, interesting and beautiful that I would have the same problem of engaging in too much projects if I were in the position that you are. The good thing is that there is absolutely no rush because your videos are best in class and a blue e39 M5 is going to be as interesting in 2 years as it was in 2022 while the opportunities to acquire these vehicles do not hold for 2 or 4 years. Im ecstatic about the future of the channel, that e36 is a jewel. Congratulations!

Have you thought about using the e46 touring as a track car to learn on? To me it seems like a perfect use for the car considering it is being replaced by the e39 for daily purposes. The engine and gearbox can be driven hard on track as you are eventually swapping both with m54b30/6-speed. It doesnt need to be towed to the track -and can carry a bunch of tires/tools for trackdays in the back. Good starting point I would think, espesially with some light modifications.

OMG I loved these E36 328i models. I was in high school and I wanted one so badly with those same wheels and tires. Those drive beautifully. Wish they still made them like this. I would buy one in a heart beat!! You should restore it back to OEM and keep it as a classic BMW E36. This one is too nice to make it a track car.

A Tipp you propably already know: zkw headlights in comparison to the Bosch units have Glas stray lights inside. You can take them out and they clean up beautifully. Looks like new in the end 😊

Very nice E36! I hope it won't break too often, these are great and reliable cars but very rarely they are well maintained so sometimes you have to invest a lot of money and time to make them as good as they should be. I have a 1996 BMW E36 320i coupe with 132000 kilometers and after watching your video I'm sure it's her original mileage because the overall condition of the car is very similar to your 328, although mine is in a bit better condition. The seats in my E36 are also this type of heavy duty leather, I think it's called "Bison" and the smell! Wow! The smell of leather in this car is one of the reasons I like it so much. I'm also the owner of an E36 M3 US (s52b32 not s50) with what they call "vader seats" and although they are beautiful but they're made with a different type of leather, it's thinner and doesn't have that smell which is a bummer, otherwise the're both great cars.

My father owned a E36 328i Touring from 1996 - 2001. Even today he's telling me that this car was the best in his whole life. In five years he drove close to 400.000km to this car and it never takes one drop of oil or water. It was also the first BMW with which I rode...In 1998 to my birth into the hospital and later back to my home. My parents also owned in that time a BMW E30 318i Cabrio in Diamantschwarz with leather in Beige. They bought it brandnew in 1990. Today I wish I was born sooner because I have no memories of that cars...

Streten! Congratulations on your wedding! :) I want to give you some tips, before you burn out of the pressure: 1. Outsourcing the video editing 2. Outsourcing most of the Polishing, detailing jobs 3. Get someone to handle the parts ordering, hunting for spare parts, and picking them up at the dealer/post/ Kleinanzeige and so on. 4. TÜV guy. Someone who makes the boring paperwork and the exam instead of you.

Congrats Sreten! For the E36, check if the fog lights are working, if not that might be the cause of the ASC light. If that doesn't make sense, it's because I left out that the relay for the fogs and the ASC module are the same :). Super easy traction control delete if you want it.
