Exactly the same thing happened to me, replaced a busted shock absorber and had to play around the axle, came to realise a couple of days later that moving the boots around had created a leak. Very thorough instructions and close up views, thanks a lot!!

Man, I really appreciate you’re doing this in your parking lot with just hand tools because that’s exactly what I’m doing on my surf right now. I know your pain xD. Great tutorial

Cheers man 👍 I find it really satisfying working on my own car and it’s good to have that knowledge for if you ever have to do it at the side of the road somewhere in the middle of nowhere!

Aahhh, good old CVs. I know you're only doing boots but I now carry one as a spare when we go away. I have beef with Bastard Lane in Wales, defeated twice. Once with a CV disintegrating and the second time I blew up the front diff in our Surf!

Oh god! I’ve been wanting to tackle the bastard lane for a while now! But I’ve been waiting till I get my rock sliders on, definitely if I end up breaking CVs I’ll fit the new on and fix the original and keep one spare! They are pretty quick to change the which is nice.

You made it look simple my friend. Thanks for video I actually need to do this to mine.

if it slides in partially, the weight of the knuckle will slide the rest of the way in with a good firm shove. do not tap w/ hammer

Wondering if you would be able to help me out here. Need to replace my needle bearing for my axle. I have a Hilux surf over here in the US. On the hilux surf (right hand drive) is it going to be on the passenger side or the drivers side?

Do 3rd gen 4runners and 1st gen taccomas share front cv axels?
@WoodcockFamilyOverland2 жыл бұрын
From what I can see yes, but I would double check!
