Pretty simple fix. Thankfully the axle came out of the hub without a fight.

The sound of that cv axle coming out of the diff. You need to clip that and use it every time you pull something out or off of something else. LOL. That would make my day!

When I change oil I hit the CV axle boots with 303 or whatever rubber preservative I have on hand. I sold my 2006 HHR with 235k miles with the original CV axles. Thanks for sharing!

You did it the hard way. You can pop the upper ball joint and cv Axle nut, then pop the inner joint out of the disconnect and slide it out. It's what I do on both my GMT360
