You live inside a DISCO !!! I'm actually surprised at how much this type of lighting can really change the feeling of a room 😮. It's radically stimulating and makes me want to dance 😅...it's an excellent idea ~💥🎵✨️👁👏🏽🎛🥁🔥⛓️🌠🐈‍⬛♥️🎙🍄🤖❗️

Love this! I almost ordered one right when they were announced also, albeit direct from source with the uncertainty of delivery time. I should find out if it’s available locally in a kit like this! I’d definitely put it on the list for purchase. If you’re looking for additional applications of the strips themselves, IIITAIII built some amazing panels that really change things from being strictly practical to more ambient or key light sources. Looking forward to more explorations!

I note your Edirol V4 accepts midi cc to change image/effect prompting etc. Could you (in theory) reconvert the CV to MIDI to supplement these lights to also fanny about with the V4’s effects in time with the lights? Have I over-engineered this? 😄

Haha probably, but then again I am the king of over-engineering. You can do that yeah. Similarly, if the original sequencer was MIDI, you could just split the MIDI output obv. Another option is to use the Hypno video synth which has MIDI and CV input. :D

I just got an illuminator, when you peel off the sticky strips on the back of the LEDs is it supposed to be dry and not sticky? Do you just drape them? I thought they would be sticky to stick to walls and such

They should be sticky, though it's easy to rip off the adhesive portion as well if you're not careful. If you end up with dodgy strips, get in touch with Soma and they should sort you out. p.s. nice username!
