Thanks Pep. We enjoy this game. Sometimes a player's turn can take a bit of time towards the last half of the game. So I usually use my downtime to tell out loud my life story based on the cards in my CV. This makes the game even more fun.

I was pretty excited when I saw the title of this one. Finally, the game we've all been waiting for about padding your publications list and manipulating your H-index! The actual game turned out to be rather different than I was imagining, but it still looks like fun. Thanks for another entertaining and informative video.

Thanks for the feedback! If watching on KZbin from a computer, there is a little "gear" symbol and you can click on that to adjust the speed of the video too, if that might help.

Pep, you missed a line. At 1:32 Rodney would have said "I'm setting up for a two-player game, so I'll place just one". Is it sad that I know what Rodney would say? Thanks for the video though. I'm just joking about the missed line and I'm intrigued by the game! I liked "The Game of Life" when I was a kid and have had "The Pursuit of Happiness" on my 'to buy' list for a little while, but this looks like it might scratch the same itch. Can't wait for the play through!

Nice video, Pep! I've had this game for a long time but it sat unplayed and forgotten in a closet until now. I finally brought it out but found the rules a bit lacking. Your explanation cleared up all my questions - thank you! My husband and I will be trying it out later today! : )

CV is a great game. I hope to see a How 2 Play for Cvlisations. The only thing that ruins the theme is that there are only one card of each e.g. only one person can have a child, get married etc.

Great video, i always love watching Watch it played, you both teach games well and are my go to channel for tutorials or just watching some fun gameplay. I do however have a question, in this you mention adding cards to your hand that are drafted in the beginning to be used later, yet you never actually mention when or how to use them later (the childhood cards). Do you just purchase them as you would normal cards from the board?

Thanks for checking out the video! The cards you draft at the beginning are event cards and are mentioned at 5:43 fairly quickly. These are played for their one time immediate effect and then discarded!

Hello Pep. Thanks for the video on CV. Just a suggestion on your rate of speech in these sort of presentations. You will be much clearer if you slow down about 20%. And pause between sentences and use “comma-pauses” mid sentences. I found I frequently had to pause the video and replay the last 10 seconds as your stream of speech out-ran my ability to process and absorb it. A little more tonal variation would help too. I am not trying to be negative, and the video was very clear in content... it just needed to come at the listener a little slower. Kind regards, Jim.

The magician card confuses me. It turns a joker into a joker? That seems like it doesn't do anything, and there's no benefit to it.

I was curious when I first saw that too. I think however what it means is that it turns any symbol into any other symbol, as the joker is a wild.

From the card clarifications in the rule book: "As an active card, this can change one symbol on a die or token to any other, once per turn. However, bad luck and good luck are exceptions: they cannot be changed to other symbols, and other symbols cannot be changed to bad luck or good luck!"

Pep, you're young so you're forgiven for not realizing, but the 'points' symbol is not a peace sign, it's 'v' for victory (points) :-) Also, a very good video.

What does it mean "you do not keep left over dice or token fro previous round " ??? If on my desk of card i have 1 extra dice and i use it this round then next round i start with 4 only even the card is still active ?

If a card is still active, you will still have the bonus provided by that card during your next turn. Discarding leftover dice or tokens is only necessary if there is anything that you did not spend from dice you rolled that turn, or any tokens that you would lose because a new card was placed or removed in your CV.

You get to use the symbols every turn as long as they are active. Except for the event cards, which are only gained once.
