Back in 2006, CVS acquired the drugstore assets of the Albertson's supermarket chain, adding 700 stores overnight. This wasn't terribly difficult, after having added 1,200 stores all at once just two years prior with the partial acquisition of Eckerd from JC Penney. As part of the hype for the Osco acquisition and rebranding, CVS's internal marketing department produced this time-lapse video illustrating the conversion and expansion of stores. Product mixes are reworked, fixtures, signs, and graphics are updated or replaced, and all the while every store remained open for business. Today (2023), CVS Phharmacy is nearly 10,000 stores strong, and their parent company, CVS Health remains headquartered right here in Rhode Island. Thanks for watching!
