why do 2 wheelers in Singapore have the box on the left side of the handlebar , and where do you put the keys?

That box is called the In-vehicle Unit or IU for short. Most if not all carparks works off this device and payments are automated by inserting a pre-paid card into the IU. Road tolls are also automated using this device. There are no service personnel at the exit of carparks and no collecting of carpark tickets for payment; It's all electronic and automated.
