CVT Transmission in a Versatile Tractor
In this Video I visit a Versatile Dealer (Ag-Com Inc.) in Elizabethtown Pennsylvania as we drive a new Versatile 210 Tractor with a CVT Transmission. It was a little wet to be in the field but we were able to run it up and down the road.

nice tractor and I can see it also has the smart front fenders that I helped develop the idea in Denmark back in approx. 1990 the first ones were made for the MF 3000 series and the Fiat 90 series, but now they are made by all tractor brands

The speed adjustment should be reversed when backing up, just like a Fendt or Massey tractors.

Mike, I have a question. I have a D145 Versatile. The 300 hydro mech had a cab that looks like it would fit perfectly, giving it more of the modern looking vibe. Is the cab the same (with a few modifications) as the cabs on the 700 or 800?

That I don't know right off but if I has to guess I would say yes.

@@farmhandmike I would think the cab frame would be the same. Never understood why the 300 got a nicer cab, maybe it was produced later. All the versions of D145 cabs were pretty crude. I just think one of those would look so much nicer. The Massey 1500/1800 (a direct knock off of the 145, but not nearly as durable) had a much better cab. Massey bought a couple of 145’s to study and pattern their first 4wd. But somehow missed the things that made the 145 a tank!

With its two manually selected ranges I strongly suspect that it uses the AGCO CVT transmission. Is that correct? If so it is very well proven and used in tens of thousands of tractors over two decades or more.

ZF builds a lot of different cvt with a lot of different setups

​@@zimmermanservice7474 Not for tractors that I know of. Deere, Landini/McCormick, Deutz, Kubota all use ZF CVT's and they all have four ranges that are automatically changed, not two ranges. It's a basic part of their design. Also a similar but different model, also now in the ZF stable, is the previously Steyr CVT which uses dogs to change. It also has four ranges. Perhaps you can point to a definitive reference to Versatile using ZF CVT's in their current models? I am very interested in transmissions and how they are programmed.
