I watched both videos on clutching. I have stumbled across a few other camping and quadding vids. Nice work! I just bought a 1000r max and even though the power is good I thought it would have more so I’m looking into the clutching as it has a CV tech clutch. My stall is 2100rpm going to see what my shift out and adjust from there. Thanks for doing all the research and posting. Subscribe

thanks so much rob.getting info on these are like pulling teeth and a million different opinions and its nice to see it broken down to easy to understand instructions and telling us what size the sockets and tourque ratings are were a big help for me. im in the middle of solving a underrev condition on my 570 max with the cv tech clutch.im at 7100 and need it in the 7400-7500 rpm range at wide open if what i read was correct.currently a 1018 spring and 14 gram weights in there, so im going to order 12s and se where im at.got the plastics and clutch cover off waiting to get the 19 and 30 mm sockets, and order my 12s in the am.didnt like being so hard on the plastics to snap em out , but they came lol.ill let ya know how it goes.liked part 1 and 2 and subbed to your channel. thanks for these videos man.i feel less intimidated now.cheers.

Did you ever try changing the secondary spring, or putting on a different secondary? I am told the stock secondary can't keep up with the CVtech primary.
@RobMillerATV

No it shifts good. Cvtech will work good with stock secondary. Qsc or stm I hear don't get along well with the stock secondary.

Great information i just installed my cvtech in my 1000r outlander xxc, it revs up to 7900 rpm on tap, i need to add pennys. Is that going to lower my engagement rpm?
@RobMillerATV
@RobMillerATV Күн бұрын
Ever so slightly it will. I added 5g to each weight and my engagement wasn't affected enough to worry. There is much less centrifugal force at low rpm.

So the way I think it works, I could be wrong, is the big bad ass QSC that everyone wants gets its performance (besides a bit smaller bearing) from having a higher stall so harder launches compared to the cvtech? If thats the case I think I would rather have the cvtech due to less stress on components due to lower stall....plus all the savings on the wallet.
@RobMillerATV
@RobMillerATV 2 жыл бұрын
Only thing I know about qsc is the price was out of my range. You can tune the cvtech to launch at high rpms if that's what you want. I almost bought a qsc secondary unit until I figured out how to tune the cvtech. Thanks for watching!

I am currently running 16 gram weights and a 0951-1016 spring. 2021 can am renegade 1000 xmr with factory “30”” cryptids. Right now my stall is 2100/2200 and my shift out appears to be 7800. Boy it rips hard. I can’t wheelie anymore but it rockets forward like a drag machine! I’d be curious what going from 16 gram to 20 gram would do…. I’d imagine it would have the same shift out as you? 7400… I may need to do that!

When you do the shiftout test, how exactly did you do it? And what are you looking for? I know you are looking at rpms, but also at the belt, correct? Haven't quite understood that part.
@RobMillerATV
@RobMillerATV 3 жыл бұрын
Just pin it, and look to see what your rpms do. They should peak for a second and drop a bit and hold. Where it holds a steady rpm that's your shiftout.
@eighty6ramam

So no real worries about watching the belt when looking for the shiftout? From there, I'm adjusting weight and primary spring to get the shiftout where the power is at right? It's the one thing i haven't adjust for as i rarely do speeds over 30-40mph.

Hi, very usefull video! Could not get the information on the yoube, what do you think of clutch kits wich are sold by some vendors (EPI, Dalton, etc) Are they any good? No significant info on youtube.... Planning to try one, changing springs and weights. Worth it? Changing the stock clutch to CV Tech or STM is very expensive as for now)
@RobMillerATV
@RobMillerATV 4 ай бұрын
I wouldn't waste money on a kit. Just get a cvtech. Belts will still slip with a kit. Then you will be out the money you spent on a kit and shelling out more for a cvtech.

@@RobMillerATV Hi Rob, can I ask about your shift out RPM. Is the initial take off jump to 7400rpm and then climb down the rpm's as the bike shifts? mine is launching and reaching 7400 and then drops to 6900-7000 as it rides out. All this is in high gear. I'd love you're feedback and sorry to be a pain. I'm riding a 650 XMR so gearing may be different and power make the difference. I appreciate any help.
