Agreed. Might get away with doing something gimmicky like that post-retirement for a lark, now that we are getting to know the Mark Calloway behind the Undertaker, but not then. Although, I can fully understand the company's determination to make it happen. I'd probably have to try to get away with it myself haha

Couldn't agree more. Taker was the only guy to keep kayfabe right til the end, that move would have destroyed that not only for us but for him too all the hard work preserving his character would have been gone in an instant. I know it's gone now, but he retired knowing he'd kept it for 30yrs he deserves to tell us about it now ❤

Looking back, it's kinda baffling just how bad WCW fucked itself. Who did eventually win the Monday night wars for WWE? The one big name who remained in WWE (aside from Michales pre injuries) and they thought would never draw money. The guy they let go in 1995 because they felt he was lacking. The hardcore guy they thought was too old to wrestle. The big guy they thought was too gimmicky. The young guys who got a chance in WWE because they had no one left. And all the midcarters who felt stuck in WCW. Meanwhile, the big WWE names in WCW with big contracts and backstage powers were killing their own progress. Oh the irony.

One moment that sticks out for me. Vince McMahon is in the back talking with Kurt Angle Stone Cold Steve Austin Kane and The Undertaker and I believe Chris Jericho. And he's hyping them up for the invasion pay-per-view. And everything Vince says stone cold is repeating and at one point you just trying to get the Undertaker to break because he keeps repeating it and yelling and slapping the Undertaker in the chest to get them riled up. And The Undertaker just looked at him with this dirty look. You can search for it

Am I the only one that is completely shocked that WCW told not only stone cold but the Undertaker that they wouldn't be big and that they would make money orbea draw? Only for those two guys to go onto BB greatest drawers and the greatest entertainers in the ring that we've ever seen. Grown up watching WCW WWE looking back at it is crazy how bad WCW screwed up.
