@khesipresents1885 They literally could have pushed both. If I recall correctly, Christian and Edge both had a push in 2005. Edge winning the Money in the bank and Christian facing Cena and Jericho for the title at a PPV. WWE though, dropped the ball with Christian by not only halting that push, but adding Jericho to his title match with Cena. In the end, it seems like they decided to push Edge at the expense of Christian, in the sense that they felt like it was one or the other, when they literally could of have turned both into stars.

Batista apparently got backstage heat in 2005 where he was dissing the Smackdown roster, or rather, people that got a certain push in WWE that didn't deserve it because of laziness, but specifically name dropped Christian out of the whole WWE roster as strongly underutilized, with so much fan support, awesome work ethic, great attitude, stays in shape, and has a great mind for the business while not getting his opportunities. I will never forgive Vince McMahon for the fact that this man never won the WWE Championship. He never won a Royal Rumble, King of the Ring or even a Money in the Bank despite being in many of those matches where he obviously was the one holding the match together. Christian deserved a huge push before TNA but Vince pushed him so low down the card that he had to leave. He then proved himself with an iconic TNA run yet when he returned Vince locked him up in ECW where he still managed to almost singlehandedly make that show worth watching. One of the most underrated wrestlers ever and one of the best wrestlers ever! The fact that he's still one of the very best in the world both in the ring and on the mic tells you all you need to know about this legend. I really hope he gets a run at the very top in AEW. They forgot leading to his babyface turn and until the start of 2006 - Batista was the company's biggest babyface. It's similar to how people say SCSA was the face of AE, which is overall true, but The Rock was the company's biggest star in 2000, and arguably past that all the way to 2002.

Having that confidence in him paid off. Christian never got a chance for some reason. And I remember the 2005 Captain Charisma run pretty well. He was definitely catching on with the crowds and was consistently entertaining. This was despite the fact that Cena was consistently beating him and Jericho up. The same thing kind of happened with the Hardys. It felt like Matt deserved to break through the midcard, but only Jeff was ever given a real opportunity to do so. @@813South oh no, that I will agree he I would say it was the first guy that came from TNA to jump from the WWE that I remembered I watched TNA a little before they had their TV deal with Spike Fox Sports network late at night and R Truth Now, but at the time, Ron Killings was one of my favorites 2 live crew was one of my favorite stables. At that time he was tearing it up being a mean guy. It’s a damn shame that never translated to the WWE.

Christian first entrance theme just close your eyes with the female vocalist was so damn good I always wonder why it was changed when he came back. Christian should of beat Cena in 2005 he was way over than Cena and it wasn't even close.

Wish i watched more TNA back then.. I watched it in like 02-04... When was the Main Event Mafia formed ? I saw a lot of that as well .. Anyway Christian is imo on his best run of his career as the leader of the patriarchy i would assume is the correct title he's "must see" tv .

Vince dropped the ball with CC in 2005 and he knows it. He was so over esp during the promos he had with Cena. But TNA welcomed him with open arms. I remember watching TNA when in grade 10 at the time and the way he was being presented was a true superstar unlike WWE where he was upper mid card at best. Only wish he stayed in TNA longer.

I think it's funny how Jeff Hardy & Edge were the marketable stars but Christian & Matt Hardy had much better in depth characters. It's a shame that WWE didn't see this Christian gimmick or Broken Matt Hardy but power to them for going elsewhere to showcase what they had

always liked captain charisma, thought he was hilarious as a heel. him and edge were great, but him and jericho as a tag was even greater. and he was great in the ring whether single or tag, great on the mic too. super funny

Christian in 2005 was such a missed opportunity. That Captain Charisma gimmick had to be one of the hottest heels on Raw besides Triple H himself at that time. He was so ready to make that jump to the main event level, but they had that idea in their heads in WWE back then where they put all their energy into one guy on the team, and just abandoned the other, when they could have gotten 2 huge stars out of the deal instead.

I haven't watched much of Christian at all in the last 20 years, just his run in wwe when he returned and the occasional TNA highlight and AEW clip. Is he working in these interviews playing to his character or is he genuinely like this outside of the ring? Love him either way but I'm curious, thanks peeps

Christian going to TNA was without a doubt the best decision he ever made. Really proved to people he was deserving of that main event spot. WWE was absolutely insane not taking him more seriously, was literally like another Jericho (cocky, good in-ring , great on the mic) but Vince just didn't like him. So stupid.
