This watch is so much more than just a starter watch and at the price point it is insane. Way better than Tudor and Omega diver offerings. I have not owned a rolex so can't speak to them personally. If youre looking to buy watches to "flex" wealth then I understand why this isnt for you, more power to you. If youre looking for a killer watch CW's recent offerings are beautiful. They listen to customer feedback and it shows in quality and specs no doubt.

Agreed, great watch but you do get better movements as you go higher up. In-house calibers, higher power reserve, coaxial escapement, METAS certification (accuracy)

@seayak2 жыл бұрын
Have two of these - one black and one white. Each with a bracelet and a hybrid strap like that shown. Couldn't decide which I like better so got one of each, and still saved over ten grand compared with a single Rolex diver. On balance I prefer the black one like yours. I also have a C60 #tide. It is showy, rated to 600 meters and COSC certified, but a bit of a lump on the wrist by comparison. The Trident Pro 300 hits the sweet spot in my opinion, with all of the water resistance you are likely to ever need.
@gearsandthoughts2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I would say one of the most amazing things about the pro 300 is how thin it is, sits so well on the wrist. I was also on the same boat, I was between the black and the white one - went with the black for it’s low key elegance.
@seayak2 жыл бұрын
@@gearsandthoughts I got both the black and the white in 42 mm so I could interchange 22 mm straps and bracelets. In retrospect I might have gotten the white one in 40 mm, so it would have less acreage of white on the dial, in comparison to the black bezel. Still like it though. In addition the bracelets for both, I got the black/red hybrid strap with black one, like yours, and the black/orange with the white one, but the black with the black/red is the classier combo. Planning to wear the white with the black/orange combo strap more casually in the summer. Easier to find if I put it down somewhere in the sailboat too!

The rubber band is comfortable but honestly I personally prefer a nice bracelet bc I wear the watch at work. So the answer is not I don’t wear it on rubber band though it more bc of preference than anything being wrong with the band.

@seayak2 жыл бұрын
Yes, with exactly the same movement, and not much to differentiate it (other than styling) from the C60 Trident Pro. I actually did not like their clasps as I felt they were too long and covered majority of your wrist at the bottom, leading to comfortability and wearability issues. I hate it when reviewers label great quality watches as being “budget” or “starter” watches. These watches are the pinnacle of what some people can afford, so smearing them is an insult to the people who stretch themselves so they can buy one!
@gearsandthoughts2 ай бұрын
I see your point but when calling them a starter watch I’m reflecting on the inventory available at market, which come in wide ranges. There are definitely cheaper watches and there are definitely more expensive watches. There are watches of better quality and lower quality. However, I feel that this particular watch would be a good starter because it’s a balance of both budget and quality.

@@gearsandthoughts Yes, I have seen the 12. Very nice but just a little too dressy for my lifestyle. The thing that draws me to the Trident Pro is its a good combination of a tool watch with just enough flair to pass in a more formal setting. Disagree, 2021 Mido ocean star 200C on a bracelet is a better deal! $728 with the discount. Also, the design is awesome and modern with a killer bracelet that is best at this price point. 80 hour power reserve and with ETA movement.
@gearsandthoughts2 жыл бұрын
I hear you. I was between Mido and this one. I would say bracelet is comparable. 80hr is great but it’s slowed down giving you a swipe that is not as smooth. Lastly the design: no see through case back and date at 3’o Clock seemed a little basic/dated (no pun intended). Ps: CW has thinner case 200ft water resistance vs 300ft on CW Higher jewel count on CW Also which discount did you use? Only discount I found was like a $100 off that would still make the watch (with bracelet) over a grand after taxes.
@georgezm22962 жыл бұрын
Bracelet on CW will drive the cost over 1K. On Jomashop the current sale is $780 minus an extra $20 with coupons. I purchased mine on Black Friday. Also, I prefer the quick release diver extension better on Mido. I have a CW an enjoy it Pro 600 BLK but this movement is more accurate. I also prefer the embossed case back ( personal preference).
@georgezm22962 жыл бұрын
By being part of the swatch group Mido has access to some of the best components. They are an extremely underrated company that is not as well known in the US. However, they are very well known in South America, Asia, and Europe. I find their QC is on par with the Omega’s of the watch world. Very unique designs.
@georgezm22962 жыл бұрын
1) CW case is 11.5 while Mido is 12.3 2.)They regulate their movement for each watch which is why they are know for their accuracy 3)80 power reserve is a huge deal for me, as it last almost 4 days on a wind. 4.) CW does have a longer warranty

Why only 360p? Very bad resolution. I'd like to see them change the 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 indices as dots rather than sticks. Also when showing a watch, always have the dive bezel set at 12. Having it randomly placed is triggering. Also best to have the hands at 10 and 2 as well.
@gearsandthoughts Жыл бұрын
Yeah bro, I was just starting off in KZbin. I didn’t know any better, upcoming videos will have better resolution. And I agree the components of dial seem homogenous, and it would be nice if they mixed it up a little bit. overall, still love the watch.
