Warum ich dieses Video veröffentliche ?
73, Andy DL6FA
Why do I publish this video ?
1. To show all NOT radio amateurs that it is possible to contact other radio amateurs on shortwave
with a radio and a piece of wire in the air to make contact worldwide, like in this video with Mexico (WITHOUT SERVER, WITHOUT RELAY, WITHOUT ANY RANGE EXTENSION).
2. To show that besides (599 and Bye QSOs) there are also DX QSOs in which the name, location,
station description, weather report, etc. are exchanged.
For me again an outstanding experience and a DX QSO I remember with pleasure.
Many thanks again to David, XE1XR !!!
Have fun watching / listening.

Hi Andy, I realy like and enjoy your videos and I have subscribed to your channel. I've haven't been active as a ham for a couple of years and I'm slowly picking it up again. I see you are a member of the HSC. Tha's a goal of mine too. :) I'm having some trouble copying cw in my head like I see you do. Do you have any advice on how to learn this better and how to improve my speed? That would be much appreciated! Beste Gruße und 73! René PA3GPX

Hello Rene, thank you very much for your kind words. I'm happy if you like my videos. Now to your question. I don't know whether you are an absolute CW beginner or have already learned CW. I recommend the free book by William G. Pierpont N0HFF to every beginner. Simply enter the following into Google: “PDF N0HFF”. It is available in English and German as a PDF. Download it and read the chapters that are important to you. The book is written by a radio amateur for radio amateurs. It is written with passion and the conviction to make CW as palatable as possible to other interested people (my opinion). It is, so to speak, the bible for telegraph operators. I discovered this book 4 years ago because I wanted to improve my cw and want to hear more quickly what wasn't working properly. I found the explanation why it didn't work in this book. The solution in my case was easier than expected. Listen, listen and listen again. Choose a speed that is slightly faster than the one you are capable of. Listen to lyrics over and over again. You can listen to the lyrics at every opportunity, and you don't always have to concentrate fully on them. The day comes when you suddenly understand parts of the text you heard even though you weren't concentrating on it. Listening and listening again and again is the best solution in my opinion. If I were you, I would specifically copy texts from newspapers, books on the Internet and copy them into the text field on the website www.lcwo.net or this link lcwo.net/text2cw. You can then have the text output at the speed of your choice. You can also download the CW text there as an MP3. Then you can hear the text anywhere, on your cell phone, in the car, at work,...You can do the whole thing there without having to register. A top option. I can give you this path. If you listen and listen and hear again and again, the signs will gradually become anchored in your subconscious so that you will become faster and faster over time. You need patience and time. Since CW is a hobby, that shouldn't be a problem hehe. Maybe I can help you with this tip, I would be very happy. I wish you much success in learning CW. It's definitely worth it because it has addictive potential. Maybe we'll hear each other sometime. Kind regards, 73 Andy DL6FA

Your videos are great! I like that you have a camera on the key. If you use obs to record, can you place a layer with the s-meter above the layer with the key? It would make the videos even better. 73!

Many thanks, I have also thought of this, but would then need a third camera. That will then be difficult. I have it in mind. Wish you all the best, 73 Andy DL6FA

@@Andy-lc4wd you wouldn’t need if you record the screen with a camera using obs. OBS is a software for streaming, if you connect your cameras to the pc you can add them to the video. OBS can capture your screen, then you add a layer with your screen and select only the meter. If you don’t know the software I recommend. It’s free, OBS project is the core one and streamlabs obs is the easier to use. 73

thanks for the good tip. However, my old computer does not meet the minimum requirements for the software. he is really very old. I've been putting off buying a new one over and over again, but I always get to the point of buying a new one. That will probably be very soon, and then I'll take a look at it. is definitely very interesting. Thank you a lot for this tip.@@ve2zdx

Viele 73, Andy
