Most people spend an hour breaking a pileup to make a qso with ZD7. And you do a regular qso. That fantastic Andy. And it shows you don't need big towers and big amps aswell. Congrats on the dx and thanks for posting this video!

Hi Rene, I have learned that no amplifier or beam antenna is required for a connection to New Zealand. It´s not easy but it´s possible. To St. Helena is less than half the distance, so it should work even better hihihi. Thank you a lot and best 73, Andy de DL6FA

Hello KQ3Q, I'm glad you like my videos. You are new to CW, welcome to our worldwide community of CW enthusiasts. Do you know the book “The Art and Skill Radio Telegraphy” ? If you don't know it, you need it. It contains many tips for beginners, advanced operators and people who want to go even higher. I can only recommend it. It can be downloaded for free as a PDF. Just search for it on Google and download it. I wish you a lot of fun with CW and I am happy about every new CW operator.

Thanks for sharing Andy, and congrats on your contact. I've never heard that call in 38 years of being on the radio, well done. Bands here are silent all bands after the recent flare. 73 zl3xdj.

Hi Brian, your location in New Zealand, or New Zealand in particular, seems to be subject to particular dispersal conditions. There is no country or area here that I don't hear. It seems that the conditions in the southern hemisphere are completely different. I find that interesting. By the way, I recently heard you on 20m, but very very quietly. We will certainly meet again. Many thanks and best regards, Andy de DL6FA

@@Andy-lc4wd yes you are right, I recently noticed after the flare it was dead bands, except 40m opened up for a while well after dark or the greyline and I worked the uk on 40m cw. Very odd. 73 mate. Zl3xdj
