What menu setting on the IC-7300 connectors section are you using please? USB IF or USB AF? I've your settings, a Lindy USB cable and can read the memory from the PC. Skimmer is displaying a red radio icon bottom left so it's unhappy. CW audio is coming across but no frequency read-out at the top of window. Thanks 73 David M0YDH

Check you have the correct COM port selected in skimmer's settings tab. It must match what Omnirig says. As for the USB, it would be AF (Audio Frequency) of course, as IF is nothing to do with AF

@@GeorgeEI7KO Hi George. Thanks for the reply. I've had a bit of luck and installed and used USBDeview. It displayed all the current and past USB devices [with helpful names] that have ever been connected to this PC with any COM ports associated with that device. COM7 was the Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge and labelled IC-7300. So were another two COM ports and labelled IC-7100. I've sold that radio so I used USBDeview to uninstall that device [twice]. I thought I might as well tidy up. I turned on Skimmer just now and we have a black radio icon bottom left and frequency displayed top right. So a conflict with old devices may have been the cause. I'll have a play in CW tomorrow. 73 David M0YDH

I have downloaded the trial version. I cannot find an IC-7300 option - was wondering if this is a restriction of the trial vs paid? Or has it something to do with Omnirig? Which I also know nothing about. At this time, I am using one program at a time - I do no have HRD up yet, which, as I understand it, would be when I would need to have omnirig?

You have to download the separate INI file for the list of radios...

Did the Omni rig thing and found the 7300. I can control my radio. I can see the frequency and I have tried the 3.4, I think it is and the software if (?) (I’m not by the radio) but I can’t see the same waterfall on the computer like I see on the radio. And even when I select the exact frequency I don’t get a decode. Even strong signals I don’t see. More work by me still required. Thank you for your reply.

@@skiphorni I find the best results are obtained by runni g the radio on filter #1 and on CW-R. Give that a bash and see how you go.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video showing a bit about the CW Skimmer software. Question: does this software also have the ability to send CW by way of my keyboard, through the computer and into the radio, or does it only decode incoming CW? Thank you for your time and assistance. Raymond - WF7BSR
@GeorgeEI7KO6 жыл бұрын
No, it does not send. I have a video on my channel about a package called CW Type. have a look a that and see what you think. best 73
