Beto has a character and trust problem. When faced with a situation where he was involved in an accident he tried to flee instead of checking to see if he had hurt anyone. I was involved in an accident under similar circumstances and knowing I would be arrested but could easily get away, I stopped wanting to make sure the person that I hit was ok. I grew up in El Paso and know his family and their political history that is ripe with corruption. He continues to flip on issues trying to get traction by sensationalizing every possible political issue and build fear. I'm not saying that Abbott is great, I'm not even a republican. I'm simply saying that Abbott does what he says and has led this state through historic gains in the Texas economy. I don't believe that Beto or Abbott will get the real source of the shootings (and other possible mass killings) under control by addressing the real issue. There are many ways a person could commit this crime. The school I went to as a child had dozens and dozens of bomb threats and several attempted bombings by a mentally troubled disgruntled ex employee. There was an attempted mass killing here in Texas on our university campus with a knife. The SXSW massacre was directed by a mentally disturbed man in a truck. Addressing mental health services, background checks, and preventative care for those who are identified as risk factors would be something that could begin to change these outcomes. There's nothing wrong with ensuring that we have the right background checks but that only addresses guns. Let's addresses the source of the problem. That's the only way to start moving that needle toward a positive outcome in preventing these attacks.

@ghostfenrir18922 жыл бұрын
You have to have a cut off, it forces the candidates to try to be concise with their answers, while allowing more time for different questions. If you just let a candidate speak until they are done, one candidate could talk for 20 to 30 minutes from one question, meandering around and talking in circles in a very unproductive way designed to confuse people or drown out certain information. With that being said, I do think there should be more time to answer such complicated questions that can not be addressed in any kind of real way in a minute or less. I'm half way through, and it seems like both candidates understand that, and thus use their limited time to be super vauge while hurling accusations at each other and others. I'm not hearing very many specifics on HOW they want to solve certain problems, how they will get it done, why their way is better than the way of their opponent, and the possible consequences of those actions, and how can they when given 60 seconds or less?

Considering 90% of Texas is on a monopolized grid made up of private investors , those investors own 90% of Texas. The government has absolutely no power over these grids. Abbot just wants you to think the government does so we think he works for the people. In truth your Texas representatives work for the private investors. That is why the city of Austin is putting very little info about Elons current move, to secure a permit that allows him to dump 140,000 gallons of treated waste water per day into the Colorado River. Before this the city of Austin pushed to ban the homeless with an ulterior motive to put 620 acres of parklands along the Colorado River up for bids. Of course Elon the richest snake in the world bought these lands to destroy our WaWa. Meanwhile the rest of America is more entertained by the notion of having free speech in Twitter. They just quote what they hear. That ain't free speech. This comment here is speaking freely what is being witnessed. Free speech comes by freeing your mind. It’s all public record. You can look up the crime rate, you can look up the environment, you can look up every single piece of the puzzle. I’m not saying Abbott is perfect and he’s far from it but he is by far the better choice. I lived in a blue state and I came here to get away from that garbage. I cringe and cry every time I see a Beto sign. He sat there and evaded and deflected from every important issue. They show him on video flip-flopping. He plays to the audience and he’s playing us. Please make a good decision because we all want an affordable, nice clean place to live.

@@MAGAISKLAN The sad part is, if Beto does win as things go flying downhill, you will blame everyone and everything but him. I have to hope that most Texans have common sense at this point. It is unreal to me that people will believe that a woman taking a Plan B pill is worse than her having a surgical procedure that actually has risks to her health and life. Yes abortion is surgery and it has risks. It’s not about health. It makes me sick that anyone could support abortion knowing that the founder of Planned Parenthood and the founder of abortion was Margaret Sanger, one of the worlds worst eugenicists and part of the KKK. That anybody could promote abortion knowing that there are people making billions of dollars off the sale of the baby pieces 🤮. It was never about choice and I’m amazed at how many stupid people will fall for it. I really wish Abbott would’ve thought about the fact that the Plan B pill costs about 1/16 of the cost of an abortion. I know he wasn’t thinking about it but that was the most ridiculous argument Beto could’ve made 🙄. But in general the rape and incest argument is a terrible argument to begin with since it’s less than 1% of abortions. In fact, clinics couldn’t even stay in business if they relied only on true rape and incest cases 🤷🏼♀️ It’s sad that people just refuse to teach their children and raise them right. There are a lot of choices made up to that choice. Specifically I taught my daughter about protection not only against pregnancy but also against diseases. There is still one that can kill you and even if you live, the medicine is extremely expensive for people with HIV. How embarrassing would it be to have gonorrhea or chlamydia. Why not just teach our kids responsibility and how to protect themselves? It is about Democrat versus Republican. It is very easy to see who runs things better. Like I said Abbott is not perfect but he is far better!! They have shown Beto contradicting himself on video in this very debate and there are still people who are willing to defend him. 🤦🏼♀️ The Democrat party began as the party of oppression. They fought for slavery and against desegregation. They are still the party of oppression, they just found better tactics and a whole lot of stupid people to follow right along. You have people like me and even recently I saw Joe Rogan who are hard-core libertarians that used to vote for some Democrats wouldn’t vote for one for any amount of money. They continually screw things up. It’s so blatant and easy to see. The crime is up over the last couple years because of the border being open. Everything Abbott is saying is true. The only people who don’t believe it are brainwashed. That’s OK, democrats have lost most of their independent voters with horrible decisions. Most of the independent voters, such as myself, we look at the facts and what we can prove. What we can prove show Democrats do not run things well. I doubt you bothered to look up any public records or actually verified anything I said before you added your comment. I would recommend it but that’s your choice. Like I said just hoping that Texans have common sense. Otherwise, another one bites the dust.
