Most of the modern Chinese martial artists always emphasize that they will K.O. the opponent within 1/2 punches. I am doubt that they are much more powerful than Mike Tyson. Thanks for Master Li's explaination and demonstration. Thank you so much

With a normal person that is not expecting you to hit back, it's very possible to knock them out with one punch. Very different than professional fighters.

I find it interesting that this explanation works for someone who is also of a like mind and action. But it really doesn’t work well if the other isn’t a striker. “He who is proficient at technique is poor at technique.” Master Wang Xiang jiang

拳無三發,棍無兩响的意思是。兩三下都打唔嬴就好走啦.

Ryan Tsang: Most of the modern Chinese martial artists always emphasize that they will K.O. the opponent within 1/2 punches. Hemi Space: I agree with you. The only thing I would disagree with is that "Most of the modern Chinese martial artists". I don't believe MOST Chinese martial artists believe that, but many of them do. Even those "1-Punch Teachers" often have ideas and techniques that are effective. Looking at that "1-Punch" situation, and others in regards to analysis of combat, I apply Bruce Lee's quote "Absorb what is useful.". Then, the analysis, in my experience, is much more effective. However, a technique that may be effective to one person may not be as effective to another.
Chinese martial art's greatest mistake or delusion is to think that you can block your opponent's punches. Surely you can do that beautifully in a choreography, but not in a bar fight!
