Thank you for the video. A suggestion for the future: Show how these multiple channel settings are displayed on the editing timeline. (I am partial to Final Cut Pro.) When you know what you will have to work with later, the lesson is much easier to understand.

I have a problem with the Camera that when I connect any external Mic wireless to XLR 1 or 2. the Audiometer didn't show any signals. its shows CH1 CH2. but when I open the file on the computer I found there is 4 channel audio track there. I am very confused please help me how to check Audio levels on the screen? Thank yo.

The extra channels are from the internal mics with agc. These channels are used for backup and/or ambient sound.

I can't believe that this camera has been out for 4 years. I finished watching the training video on the functions of this camera. The comments have been disabled. I graduated from the art institute of Seattle back in 05. We started with the Sony BETACAM SX. With the Sony, we could zoom in and focus on the subjects eyes, the pull back, and the subject is still in focus. Does this camera do the same thing? I hope someone can answer this question before I buy it. Thank you.

Yes! I was wondering why I have 4 audio channels but only 2 inputs. Quicktime won't play these videos, and I'd like to turn off the additional 2 channels but don't know how.

Thank you, but I do still have a serious question and need some help. We are running out from our mixer to the 2 XLR channels and we are wanting the recording to receive those 2 audio inputs as "left and right channels" rather than individual audio streams. Yet, when we go to work on the recordings, we find that every file now contains 4 audio streams. 2 of which are the internal microphone channels and the other 2 are the 2 xlrs we are running from our board into the camera. Could we get some help here? We don't want it to be "audio source 1, audio source 2, audio source 3, audio source 4" and everything treated as a separate mono source. We want the 2 xlr runs to be treated as stereo audio for the videos when we go to edit and produce them. Thanks.

If you input a stereo XLR into an input, will pointing Channel 1 & 2 at that input pick up & differentiate the stereo inputs into recorded stereo?

Did a firmware upgrade and have been having some problems. My ambient channel 2 is the dominant channel when I edit. It almost knocks out my Channel 1 dominant channel. Need your help please.

Hello! Thank you for making this video. It has been very helpful for me. I have a question that maybe you can help me with. I have the same camera (CX-350). Do you have any experience bringing in Line level audio to the camera? I have a fashion show that I need to shoot in a couple weeks... but I can't record the actual audio that is played at the show as KZbin will flag it as copyrighted. So I have made my own copyright free soundtrack for the show that I wish to bring into the camera when I start recording the show. So I purchased an XLR cable that has a 3.5" stereo jack on the other end that goes into my MP3 player. The XLR end is plugged into the camera's Input 2 set to line level. The problem is... When I play the audio... its sounds incredibly hollow with a slight echo... and the quality is just horrible. Not distorted like if MIC level was accidentally selected... but nonetheless horrible. Almost like there is some sort of line mismatch or something is out of phase. Almost like the stereo is out of whack and parts of the instrumentation are missing. So I guess my overall question is... do you know the best way to bring audio from a Line level/mp3 player into the camera so the audio quality sounds full and vibrant as it should? Any help or guidance would be so appreciated! Thank you so much! :)

If you are editing it, simple fix is to add audio in post. If doing it live, then I see your issue.

Can't we connect connect the camcorder with video output to TV and audio input from mixer/amplifier?? Simultaneously?? We are receiving humming sound noise. How to fix it??

Why is it that you can only multiple audio tracks in MOV 4k? it doesnt even work in MOV 1080. then you only get audio no video. Not finding much info on this...

Something very strange. After I did an update to the camera, when I record audio in 2 channels, in stereo, I see while shooting that 2 channels are indeed recorded - both meters work independently on the camera screen. I also play the clip inside the camera - there are 2 independent sound channels. But when I download the files to my computer - they become mono, one sound channel. This only happened after the update. What should I do?

@@СтаниславПетровский-г1х Hello. Io ho lo stesso problema di meirdekel2, senza aver fatto alcun aggiornamento. La camera l'ho acquistata un mese fa. Nuova. In proprietà della clip, al pc, l'audio mi dice sia ad un canale (mono), nonostante abbia settato la macchina nel modo esatto. Cioè in stereofonia, a due canali. CH 1 e CH 2 Line Int R Int L. Questo registrando in MOV. Invce registrando in AVCHD, l'audio risulta normalmente in 2 canali (stereo). Grazie.

I know that the manual says there is a 3.5mm headphone jack output. But I cannot find it on the camera and have also asked a camera expert and we are unable to find it. Can anyone assist on where this is located?

I am testing my new CX350 myself now. Is very well hidden. Some 4 cm above the lock of the transparant cover of the audio section. Watch for the headphone symbol.
