Thank you for this! The provided documentation with my CX10 is utterly useless and I was having trouble figuring out how to shoot in 4K since there is no 3840x2160 setting. This video and the book help a lot.

So I need to output to a live stream (and project to in-house screens) Want 1080p or better. BUT I also use the stream source file later to submit to broadcast facility (requires 1080i/29.97). Didn’t plan to record from cam. However, does my record mode chosen (even if not recording) alter my output? In tests we have glitching on stream.

Very informational video thank you ! Would you say that I can film a wedding with this camera better than with a dslr camera in video mode ? I have a canon 80d but having all these accessories with gimbals and changing the lenses is making me lean toward a regular handheld camcorder like video recording system.

What’s the difference of a UK 🇬🇧 Panasonic CX-350E THEN A CX-350? How would I know if I was using a UK Camera inside the USA? I’m in the USA and I think I purchased a UK Panasonic can you share some insight with me. My system model says CX-350E. Got product off Amazon.com.

great vid as usual! Can you use v60 card for the slow motion 60p/120p .265 all intra highest bitrate or use v90 when doing highest (in SLOW MO highest of high)? Also 2nd question (on the last firmware update, which can you use for the .265 (V log or ?) Love the camera. Seriously could use for so many applications like Hotel ballrooms, corporate gigs, ENG and low budget Indy features.
Why can't you use the HEVC codec that Canon has with it's XF705? XF-HEVC (Canon's format) does 4:2:2 10-bit at 24p, 30p *and* 60p :(

I just re-read my comment and it was confusing. I apologize. What I meant to write is, why can't Panasonic implement a similar codec to Canon's. Canon uses HEVC like the Panasonic, but the Panasonic only gives you 10-bit 4:2:0 using HEVC codec. Canon's version uses 4:2:2, better color. Sorry folks.

@@makosports That's true. The DVX200 at its price range is truly magnificent. I'm very happy with the quality. I didn't get the CX350 because of its smaller sensor at 1 inch. I hope Panny releases a true DVX200 successor :)

This is a great explanation of the codecs but it would be nice if someone could answer some of the questions below my comment. Also, these codecs mean nothing if the footage is not sharp and in focus. I would guess I speak for most users when I say I want almost every frame to look like a sharp photo. The way I would go about doing this is to make sure my shutter speed is at least twice as fast as the FPS. I’d also use a wider aperture in case focus was off a little. Which brings me to ISO. In low light a higher shutter speed and wider aperture is going to require a higher ISO. I’ve only had the camera for a couple days and I haven’t had a chance to play with it much but I’m hoping I can use a manual shutter speed, aperture and ISO while still using auto focus. My old Sony HDRZ5U has these capabilities and is very easy to use. I might sound dumb for making these comments before I’ve had a chance to dive into the camera more. Crossing my fingers until then. Maybe I’ll post an update later on.

So which video tells me about the settings for IR??? I have just spent two hours trying to turn this on. In fact I am a bit over the message "invalid" when it can't do something. No idea why, no info in any guide. It would have to be the worst documented camera that I have ever seen. It will be going in the river soon.

Did you figure this out?
@brucethomson80613 жыл бұрын
@@Korfucius Yes! Actually I discovered that you can't use 120fps and do slow motion because each image has ghosts of the previous 4-5 images and it looks crap. It seems to be a problem with Panasonic cameras, so don't buy one if you want to do slow-mo! I have already sold mine.

This is (at the time of writing) July 2019. Why would you even mention 720? What is the point of 720 these days? If you're even thinking of shooting in 720 why would you buy this camera. You're either going to shoot in 1080 or 4K
@ftm845 жыл бұрын
Many shooters use 720 for streaming as it takes up less bandwidth. That's why he mentions it.
@deaniweenie5 жыл бұрын
@@ftm84 That may have been true 5 or so years ago but it just isn't anymore. No-one is using 720, there is just no reason to use 720 as there isn't a problem with bandwidth these days. You may say that there are still parts of the world, even the developed world that don't have access to the bandwidth and even streaming over cellular isn't an issue. But let's face it, if you can afford this camera, if you are going to buy this camera, internet broadband speed will not be an issue for you.

I work in sports production and both ESPN/ABC and FOX are still 720p. And that’s the format that shows (live and taped) are delivered in for air. There are many instances where we still shoot field footage with a camcorder like this in 720p.
