It's not every character from now on, just Fontaine characters since the mechanic only works inside Fontaine borders. And there are ways of telling outside of the vision. You can see it in their actual attack and burst animation. There's a pneuma or ousia logo that appears as part of the animation whenever they do their attacks. The colors people are talking about are the ones each character can interact with in the world. Ousia aligned characters can only interact with one color and pneuma aligned characters can only interact with the other.

I feel like the pneuma/ousia energy doesn't have to be stated so blatantly on characters... they said it's not a mechanic comparable to elemental reactions and is only applicable to Fontaine cheracters (probably only useful within the area of Fontaine and nowhere else). It's like remembering which catalyst characters can break rocks (Klee) and which can't (Lisa for example).

It's absolutely going to be stated blatantly in the character kits because the energy system is tied in with Fontaine lore and an important mechanic for Fontaine characters. Breaking rocks comes naturally with the explosives while pneumousia energy is less obvious if you don't zoom into Lyney/Lynette's vision holders.

@@Ivy-jq6di what I meant is that it doesn't have to be displayed during exploration and combat AT ALL TIMES (hence the word "blatantly"). it has to be in their character cards and the description of their skills obviously, that's just the basic requirement of well done game design - the player shouldn't have to search outside of the game or watch out for tiny details to learn important mechanics. however, the elemental skill icon does not remind you that it has a press mode and a hold mode - you have to learn that for every character by reading the skill description and then retain that knowledge. I feel like the same thing would apply here: their pneuma/ousia type being stated in their character menu, but not all the time during gameplay.

I'm pretty sure figuring out character's arkhe alignment will be exactly the same thing as figuring out their element. All three showcased characters have their alignment clearly visible in their attacks and I'm pretty sure it will be present in the UI along with element indication wherever it is used too.

Im holding my breath on Fontaine simply because ive been surprised in the past with for exemple how dreadful Inazuma was for me (just did not enjoy the Archon quest much nor the exploration overall) despite thinking it would be my favourite and i was iffy on Sumeru but it turned out to be my favourite archon quest and region to explore so far.. so i will give it a bit to convince me as 4.0 will also only be the tip of the iceberg we have a full year before Natlan so they have time to grab me lol (also Genshin burn out is very much real, i need to do some catch up on character story quests but ive been putting it on the back burner because it feels like a chore after playing Genshin daily for a full year without missing more than maybe a day or two, so it certainly contributes to having a hard time being super hyped about everything and ready to dive back in for more)
