Actually cash is very easy to counterfeit. It’s just done a lot less because skimming is more cost-effective but going back to cash would mean a giant spike in counterfeiting as the people who used to do it likely have the equipment stored away.

The US is one the very few countries who refuses to implement a secure card payment system. Many European countries have introduced cards of cryptographic features such that if the information is captured once if it’s used again it’s immediately flagged up as fraudulent.

Cash is very very easy to steal without much experience also depending on how you hand it over if CCTV only captures one note when there’s two people can easily take it in a shop and you have very little protection
