You can tell when playing the game on PC, it is immersive What we are experiencing is cut content. The bugs and lack of detail is due early release because of next gen consoles. To put this in perspective, CDPR took shortcuts to finish the game. They didn't get to bug smashing phase. In my experience, I love the game. But, I do agree it ended to short on a fixed storyline. There wasn't enough dialog, customization, and features that were featured during development phase. You can tell it was rushed when you finish the game to 100% completion.

Your review is exactly what I've been saying all along! Sadly with me it fell on def ears... I too wish the city would be more immersive. Love the atmosphere the game creates, the places and the characters. i just wish - and still hope for the future - that the city would have more things to offer. More to explore, do and interact with at your leisure. And I do miss some game mechanics that were visible in early gameplay videos by cdpr. I still favor DeusEx's gameplay over CP2077 at this point. Even the skills & skilltree had (imho) more of an impact in DE.... Oh and I'd buy a dlc for a romance option Female V Panam ;) - NEVER MIND I found a way to romance panam as female v

I finished my playthrough today (I got sun ending and I romanced Kerry, so even tho the ending seemed bittersweet I still liked it and I think it’s the best one out of all 6). My save file had over 100 hours, I did everything there was in the city, got achievements for quests, gigs etc and the only thing left for me to do was to collect cars which I couldn’t bother with tbh. The game was a great journey and I seriously liked it and I don’t regret playing/buying it (I thought for like 4-5 days on which platform to play it and ultimately I played it on my PC). But I gotta say I agree that the game got it’s issues and I hope those issues will be fixed in future patches... Minor graphical bugs, enemies AI, unbalanced difficulty level, UI could use some work as well, few times happened to me that the game didn’t play dialogues while playing (dunno if this is happening on English localization or only on the other dubbs such as Polish). Overall there is still quite a long way before this diamond can truly shine (because it definitely needs some more polishing). I believe the game will pull NMS with all patched, DLCs and expansions on the horizon. So yeah, there’s that... Also Good review Soph, like always!

I don't regret my purchase (I'm an old school fan of the CP2020 ttrpg so just being in Night City makes me giddy), but I'd advise people wait 6 months, maybe even a year to get it. It's such a shame, because the core of it, the characters and story, is very good.

First time on your page, and I’ve watched more Cyberpunk content than I’d like to admit, and this is the fairest review I’ve seen by far. As far as the actual game is concerned, i absolutely agree with you on basically every take you have . You’re almost too nice when criticizing certain aspects lol. I’m a PS4 owner so i don’t think I’ll ever be able to seperate the actions of CDPR and the game by itself and I don’t think i heard you mention that whole disaster . This was one of those games I really wasn’t sure about, but considered giving it a chance anyway (not because the hype of Witcher 3 which I think is just another generic rpg), but just to see if I could find some joy out of it despite the overall hype it once received. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy it, mostly the gameplay aspect of it; not so much the story. Despite the poor bugs and glitches that could’ve easily been patched; considering how much time the devs worked on this project, but the fact that they 1) knew the game was broken and lied about it to our faces. 2) releasing patches in a monthly manner that should have already been applied to the game 3) Bent the knee to a country that shall not be named 😉😉 lol and 4) the devs released a pathetic corporate apology video, which IMO; is insulting to the fans/consumers. Great work as always Sophia, definitely look forward to more ❤️👍🏾

Have had a few other minor bugs pop up but usually loading back in fixes it. I was a bit let down by the lack of buildings you can get into but I do love the city (just wished there was more to do). The talent trees are somewhat decent. I might go for katanas and whatnot on my second playthrough. Wish they would fix the AI though sometimes they do extremely dumb shit. At this point we will probably just have to rely on mods for many of the fixes to come.

A good review that I absolutely agree with; I think that the downfall of the game lies in the marketing that hyped it up so much that it'd be impossible to live up to given promises (looking to No Man's Sky here). The game's playable in its current state, sure, but I believe it'd benefit from being smaller, more contained yet more detailed. Also, it's almost a crime that lifepaths basically don't influence the way you're playing; what's the point of making a huge deal out of it if you become pretty much the same person no matter how you begin your playthrough? If I'm starting as a corporate agent, I want to feel like one - not just when I can select an appropriate phrase, but all the time. Dragon Age Origins managed to implement such an approach years ago - it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't jarring either... /endrant

People talk about cyberpunk as if the bugs are the only problem. The bugs are the biggest problem but the story itself is maybe slightly above average, the gameplay mechanics are subpar, the balancing is bad, the game lacks basic AI behavior like ai driving or police pursuit mechanics, the ending was shit, characters are mediocre / undefined, and it lacks a lot of story fleshing out. The game needed another 6 months of development for ALL areas, not only QA like too many people think.

I'm not one who give much of a shit about "immersion" when it comes to GRAPHIX in games as I can find enjoyment in a lot of ugly-as-fuck games, but the real crime is the HOLY SHIT amount of bugs that keeps getting in my way. I’m not sure if this is the XSX making the game perform better or something but I’ve been almost fully immersed @ times especially in the Panam stories but obviously this game is still unfinished especially if the stories about cut content to push it out quicker are true not to mention combat not being as challenging as expected compared to games such as Skyrim & even The Outer Worlds which is currently my all time personal favourite (but I’m a sucker for Space Opera) which kicked my arse many times and if it is finally completed some day Cyberpunk 2077 could easily become my new all time favourite based on what looks like an unfinished game @ this point

I played the whole game on steam, got about 100 hours of gameplay, made ever side quest i could including all Fixers jobs. But when i finished it I felt a bad tast, it felt wrong and really not done. The game has no replay value AT ALL. I have made all the endings at the same save game, just chose a companion to the last heist, after the credits, just go back to point of no return and choose another ending. Do that 5 times and you have your self all endings, wich 3 are the same changing just the npcs with you. After that all I felt was that i could just unistall the game, and that I could never play it again and enjoy different paths, It was all set up and you choices never matter, you can see this you self just quick saving before a dialog option and doing it again, nothing matters. Even Fallout 4 for christ sake, you cant just reload you last save game and play all endings, you make choise through out the game at directly impact the ending, bad as it is, it really do. Even sides quests, fallout 4 every charecter in sides quests can be killed and afftect the outcome of it, it does not affect you main story of couse but at least you feel that you choises change somthing in that litte story. Cyberpunk does not have that, ALL side quests, are also scripted and are even less player driven that the main quest The worst part is, this is the place we get set now. We can't have what was going to be, because they've committed to THIS. They will try to sell us on less than what was promised so long as it's more than what we currently have. All the DLC, free or otherwise, all the patches...it's not gonna transform it from a looter-shooter into some deep RPG like we wanted it to be. We'll always have level-locked clothes and weapons, when they have no place in this game (because making a hundred versions of the same weapon is easier than making a wide variety of weapons). We probably won't get combat chems, since they devalue the cybernetics, we get more co-op with companions likely, I'd be impressed if any car customization went further than aesthetics... I just don't see them making the game that was advertised because of the sheer amount of stuff that would have to be entirely overhauled and remade. The game is out, so we can only have an improved version of what it is, we can't have what we wanted it to be, what was advertised. Now that the game is lauched they cant remake or change gameplay, story or anything. they cant turn this game into a rpg. They can at most patch and fix and thats all. We will eventually have a game that runs good, no or minimla glitches and all of that. But forever we will have an empty game. They should remove the god damn game from every story, fick change it to beta on steam, say that it is unfinished and it will change through time. That would be way better.. but wont happen The worst part is, this is the place we get set now. We can't have what was going to be, because they've committed to THIS. They will try to sell us on less than what was promised so long as it's more than what we currently have. Does anyone knows that meme where CDPR says on twitter the game doesn't exist, and they only wanted to hang out with Keanu Reeves? That's actually genuine, they said FVCK IT to their already advanced in development game just to fit Keanu Reeves, give him the protagonism by creating a linear main storyline. Bro, imagine that, resetting the progress made into the project just because a big star. Did anyone got sold by the game only after Keanu? Me, personally, did not, was already on board without him.

Couldn't have said it better, game can be a lot of fun but doesn't live up to the hype, it still needs a lot of work to live up to expectations, hopefully the January and February updates and paid DLCs are going to fix a lot of those complaints, include QoL improvements and add lot of content, it's a pretty good foundation and a good start, just not the groundbreaking experience everyone thought we will get out of the box, compared to something like Hades (which broke new grounds when it comes to integrating story and gameplay) it's kind of disappointing, at many moments while playing Cyberpunk 2077 I couldn't help but think "This mechanic/elements/system was done better in that other game, why didn't they take that and improve upon it instead of doing a clunky outdated version of it", the most immersive thing about the game was indeed the main story (specially cutscenes) and some of the side missions. And speaking of weapons, my fav weapon so far is the Russian power sniper you used at 18:12, love how much it packs a serious punch (and that 3.8 headshot multiplier helps a lot popping baddies heads like balloons), when it comes to augments my fav is the Gorilla Arms, I just love punching stuff with them, I just flashbang a group of enemies and then go JoJo on their asses .. you know the ORA ORA ORA thing --> kzbin.info/www/bejne/haurdminZrN6l5Y ... it never gets old ... and they also do provide some utility (allow carrying heavy turrets and force opening some locked doors), though I wish they they allowed us to carry heavy objects and throw them around like in Deus Ex (always loved making makeshift stairs from boxes or throwing huge dumpsters at enemies). Really wish to hear what you think of Hades, it's a great game and I'm on a crusade to make sure as many people get to experience it as possible ;)

Given the price tag on GOG, this game is by far the best value for money when it comes to entertainment. I enjoy it when it runs and when it crashes i go and read some urinalists desperate tries to stay relevant by writing 10th article about the same bug or blowing some other aspect out of proportion. And then there is the abattoir of squealing console players who got a reality check by receiving a shit grade port, something PC player base has gotten used to (Arkham Knight, Horizon, RDR2, GTAV, AC:Unity and so on). So yea, weather it's gameplay or shadenfreude, I give this game a solid 8/10 :D

Enter Boston or New York, expecting plentiful of things to do, to loot, as it was promised huge area, only to find out that 9 out 10 buildings are nothing but props and serve no practical purpose. Meant solely to give illusion of size and scope. _I simply dont understand why something basic as running person over was forbidden._ Because this implies choice. And since game was simply not finished, providing only basic functionality, choice was not added. Yet. Hopefully. Right now CP77 has only barebones content. Some aspects were done, like story, rest not so much. _..let me climb walls..._ Supposedly it was planned, but since game was not properly finished... CDPR needs to retype game as EA and promise all current owners either free future DLCs or, at the very least, heavy discount on their purchase. What they are doing right now is not helping(it is equivalent of running in place, as problems pile up faster than they are solved), because they need time to fix everything and this is something they simply do not have with current state of things. They need to stop, take well-deserved dick into ass, properly apologize to games, reevaluate current situation and then go from there. Instead of frantically trying to do 27 things at once and failing.

I'm in a very curious position, played the game from start to finish... twice... with basically no bug at all... You guys need a new hobby, it's clear that you now love the drama more than gaming. This game made me come to the conclusion that game "journalists" were actually right, gamers are massive crybabies... It's more fun to destroy your toys than playing with them? Well, have fun then! So funny, it's like knowing the truth and having the person lie to you like he can get away with it, that's actually satisfying ^-^ Also, should I try Fallout 76 now? I mean, hearing what you say about CP2077 and having actually played it myself, I kind of wonder what was true about F76 now... Hmmm...

You basically said why cp77 isn't an RPG. Your poor choice of life path won't give the game an actual roleplaying feeling. You're a streetkid for an hour and your streetkid dialog is pointless and pretty much doesn't affect the game

The enemies are just mindless punch bags. Metal Gear Solid in 1998 had better AI.

The most disappointing game after fallout 76.

yeah.. the bugs and missing content where... more or less acceptable... though the quest bricking is total BS (i have 5 quests i cant finish). now the save game bricking ... that is a different story and i hope some lawsuits put some sense into CDPR.. though most likely it will only hit the wrong guys...
