Really the only part that probably happened as shown was the Adam Smasher one shot finisher and forget about the after skip. Johnny was not a very tough guy at least not solo level tough. His greatest talent was having a circle of far more talented people. He definitely did not show up Shaitan on the helicopter or kill dozens of well trained Arasaka with perfect headshots. He probably did just well enough to stay alive until Smasher.

A legendary rockerboy can still wipe the floor with mooks in a gunfight, but your right. The rockerboys strength is their charisma and connections.

Sorry to reply to a 7 month old comment, but yes he most certainly did not show up shaitan. Shaitan gets critically wounded fighting Adam Smasher and somehow gets away in the actual events, compared to getting immediately wasted before the helicopter even touches down.

I kindly disagree on the part where he cannot fight, through all the story with V a lot of time u can see Johnny skill and knowledge on weapons, cybernetic, hell he even comment on the sandevistan, don’t see him only as a rocker boy, he does have a military background since he started at young age

The Jeremiah Grayson dialogue on the Ebunike seems to confirm that Smasher didn't really flatline Johnny - at least not as far as the CP2077 lore is concerned. Grayson tells you how Silverhand shit and pissed himself while Soulkiller was "sucking out the Neurons from his brain" which indicates that Silverhand might have either still been alive or had been revived to conscientiously witness his punishment. Remember: Soulkiller didn't do a good job on the already-deceased Jackie. His construct/engram within Mikoshi is nowhere near the level of consciousness that Silverhand's engram is on. And Alt telling you that memories have been altered might just be the developer's attempt at a retcon.
@Giga_Nerd
@Giga_Nerd 2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for your comment! I do like your perspective. But I do believe , until proven wrong hahahaha, that Smasher did flatline Silverhand and like they did with Jackie used soulkiller on him. Depending on how long it took for Arasaka to attach the head gear to begin soulkilling Johnny, a human body does begin to release stuff from its body. Either right away or in some cases hours afterwards. That can be what Grayson is talking about. But again these are all speculation until a full canon version is released. Johnny being alive is already a retcon. He should bot have survived by normal means. Thanks again for sharing :)

just wanted to chime in, When Alt suggests johnny's memories aren't accurate, im failry sure shes implying that hes sugarcoating his memories and remembering things thru rose tinted glasses. its kind of like two people remembering the same story differently. i dont think shes actually saying his memories were altered purposely. we're just seeing johnnys memories through his own interpretation of events.
@Giga_Nerd

This is a fair take and appreciate this perspective. I think the reason I looked at it from the perspective that he altered his memory, is like data files and how they can be corrupted. He was in mikoshi for 50ish years, my thinking was if not on purpose, Johnny slowly altered his own coding, idk lol like wanting to see what you believe is true. Thanks for sharing!!

And this is why, after four full playthroughs and 400 hours, I STILL play this game. I never heard Alt say anything about Johnny changing his memories (at least I don't remember her saying it). Yeah, Johnny was a textbook narcissist. In the diner, he's talking about what a legend he was...how nobody will forget his death. The only reason people remember him at all is that the rich and famous are wealthy enough to use technology to prolong their lives. Think about Kerry and the rest of the band...they were likely about 25-ish in their heyday and that was FIFTY years ago! Now, they're 70+ and they're still moving and acting like they're not even 50 (cranky, but physically young). Without Kerry (the corporate sellout) and a few hardcore Samurai fans, Johnny would be a page in a history blog. Saburo is over a century and a half old and he still walks down stairs with NO railings!

" "I never heard Alt say anything about Johnny changing his memories (at least I don't remember her saying it)." Correct. She doesn't say the memories were altered. She says what V saw is Johnny's perception. I think CDPR was pulling from the fact in real life our memories don't record what did happen, only how we saw it happen. Example commonly used is, if you have 20 witnesses see a car accident, you will have 20 similar but different stories. Also, as time goes on, people will forget parts, add opinions, etc. I have not had a chance to dig into source books, but you could say the source books were written after the fact and from peoples memories. So they may not accurately tell the tale either.

@0lionheart 2 жыл бұрын
@@greenrevolver30 bear with me but, a decent semi-recent example would be Sandy Petersen talking about DOOM development on Twitter, and John Romero coming into to politely correct him on a lot of minor & major details. No shade on Sandy or anything just, it shows how our memories warp and drift from the truth over time. Romero has (I can't remember the name for it) but a pretty ironclad memory and it's super interesting seeing how the passage of time altered Sandy's recollection of things vs the actual truth. That + Johnny's ego + him being in a void for half a century = very very unreliable recollection imo

The best indicator that Johnny is a narcissistic asshole with delusions of grandeur isn't Alt telling V that Johnny's memories are wrong, it's not everyone who ever knew Johnny telling you that he was an egomaniac, neither is it the fact that the members of Samurai are washed up has beens, or the aging fan selling merch out a makeshift stall in Kabuki, neither is it the "legendary" site of their first gig being turned into a noodle bar, what it is is the fact that almost every piece of Samurai related content you find in the game is labelled as Common Junk.

There is a little problem with Johnny altering his own death memory...and that is when Soulkiller is used on dead body it does create incomplete engram (we seen that with Engram of Jacky Wells), but Johnny feels like complete being Edit: I think the altering Alt was talking about is more made by Johnny subconsciously, everybody are heroes in their own stories after all.
@Giga_Nerd

That is a hot take! You are correct there, so then the memory we see/ play, in your opinion was that altered or not? Thanks for sharing btw!!
@jancerny3657
@jancerny3657 2 жыл бұрын
@@Giga_Nerd Yes it is altered in a way...after all in Johnny's mind he is a hero, he himself said to V "Johnny Silverhand died a legend." so what we see is in his memories is how he see him self, not what really happened. Edit: however as I stated before...his engram must been made while he was alive, so what we seen in his memories is true 'from a certain point of view'

When Alt said that Johnnys memories were unreliable (wich i think is all she actually said? Been a while) i thought she was talking about the general unreliability of memories, especially in extreme situations. Like when people who were in the area but didn't actually see what happened give detailed accounts of accidents, these people aren't lying on purpose, their mind filled in the blanks and they are actually convinced that they saw everything.

@@Giga_Nerd yeah there is a bit of a retcon to Silverhand's story, in the reference books, the man died, end of story. Smasher flatlines him, but in the 2077 story he's extracted still alive, you can't soulkill a complete engram from a dead body... and the unrelieable part in his memories is just Johnny sees himself as the hero of the Saka bombing when he was just a tag along in reality and did more harm than good. That is the unreliability of Silverhand's memories, he milled in them for so long that he changed them to a thing where is role was bigger than actually was, due to his egomaniac tendencies

@@Giga_Nerd I think it got distorted while he was alive. He relived that in his nightmares, check the mission brief. And when it got copied the already distorted nightmare version got copied. But it's normal he'd remember it as an accident to protect himself, all narcissists are just big ol' softies who can't navigate the world without taking others down to their level. Also it's bad enough that it happened the way it did. He didn't know and he was hasty.

I doubt johnny's memory of his death happened cause we see that engram's of the already dead aren't great just look at jackie's i think alt is more talking about details like in reality johnny probably didn't punch Tompson or even the absence of Morgan from the assault on arasaka tower like maybe the reason johnny even escaped the room with adam smasher and makes it to the roof again before adam catches up to him and destroys his arm is that maybe morgan saves him during that jump and johnny's narcissism just couldn't accept that he had to be saved by someone else hence the jump and as mentioned earlier he probably didnt punch Tompson but he probably thought about doing it and his engram altering the events hell maybe even the fact you can choose diolouge options in the flashbacks might be part of that aswell if they where unfiltered memories we wouldn't be able to choose diolouge in them it's probably a mix of johnny's narcissism and his thoughts mixing with his memories and even the options to choose what johnny says is what he thought about saying

When watching this, my girlfriend brought up a very interesting question. Why would the corporation that Johnny tried to nuke want to keep his biochip and why at the penthouse when you're doing the Heist? Why after 50 years is that in a case on ice? Why not in a temperature-controlled plaque on a wall or something. Did I miss something in the game? Loving your lore videos. Allows me to fill in the blanks that I do not know or forgotten from the tabletop game. Which of course some things have been altered since 2020 came out back in the 90s if I'm remembering correctly.
@Giga_Nerd
@Giga_Nerd 2 жыл бұрын
Hey first thanks for watching! And to answer these questions let me try to fill in some gaps. Okay first why keep the soulkilled engram of a dude that nuked your building. This seems to be pride/torture. Soulkiller was utilized to gain information from an enemy via torture. Now I believe Saburo being the bitter salty old man that he is kept Johnny's engram as a way to destroy his ego and at the same time kinda show just how powerful the Aras are. Next why was the chip in the case? This is where it gets a bit blurry. I'm another 100% sure if Yori put Johnny's engram into the relic and hauled butt. Or if johnny was already I the relic and he simply stole the relic. I think it is more likely that Yori got himself an empty relic(like a blank usb) and stole Johnny from Mikoshi. Because it Johnny that the Netwatch agent wanted in order to properly communicate with Alt. Now alot of what I said was me also trying to fill in the blanks for myself. And this is what just makes the most sense. Hopefully that helped. I do know for sure that Johnny was stolen by Yori!

@@Giga_Nerd I would not be surprised if some of this will be reveled in an expansion. There are many corperations that were left out if not barely touched at all that could play a major role in helping V live. Such as the ever popular Morgan Blackhand, Aesculapius Incorporated, and of course Militech. I would not be surprised if a known actor/voice actor will play Morgan and be leading V on a quest to cure them. I just hope the bad publicity didn't kill this game entirely for a decent future. I have about 900 hours into 2020 and I am still finding new things. Best game for me in decades. Great content. Keep up the good work.
@ThePlatineist
@ThePlatineist 2 жыл бұрын
The biochip and the engram are two different things. Johnny got soulkilled and turned into an engram, that's already been established. What Saburo is interested in is the biochip, the data on it is irrelevant as Evelyn aptly foreshadows. The chip is at the penthouse, because Yorinobu whisked it away in secret to sell it off to Netwatch. I assume because he is afraid his father is trying to take over his body if he does one more misstep, which I am sure Saburo is just waiting for him to give him an excuse. And that's what that altercation was in the Penthouse where Yorinobu lunges at Saburo. But why Johnny was on there is a mystery. I assumed Yorinobu did it. In case someone would try to slot it into him forcefully as an experiment it'd be a nice surprise to have Johnny come back in his body... Now that's an idea. 😂 Johnny in Yorinobu's body. How long do you think it'd take before he kills himself?

Theory at the end is reaching, imo, I don’t think CDPR would show the conversation between Johnny and Saburo and then go back and say “oh yeah that cool scene?
