A biopod is the part of a cyborg that holds the organic parts (the brain, spine, nerve tissue, etc). Like Adam Smasher, Sheitan was close to being a full 'borg but without the psychosis that Smasher suffers from. Morgan Blackhand believed in a combination of tech and skill. He had a cyberhand with a built-in pistol (the 'Black Hand) and cybereyes (I think) but most of the rest was all him and it was all skill. In one of the books he wrote, he noted that the most recent winner of a contest (it was essentially a combat-Olympics) was a woman who had a Neural Link (the palm thing that V gets from Vic early on) and a basic Sandeventian (to boost reflexes) and she out-maneuvered a cybered-up tank of a dude with a poison needle gun and great moves.

The neural link is the thing you pull out of your wrist to hack nodes. The palm thing V got from Vic is a cyber-grip (not even a smart-gun link, you get that later).

@@muninrob The premise is similar, if higher tech than the original Smartgun link cables. The same cable link system would be used for Machine/Tech links used for diagnostics and operation. The only difference between the 2077 links and the 2020 links is the lack of need for cable's from your gun to hand and arm to skull for the targeting link. With the 2077 version its inner hand contact with the gun which has a continuous subdermal link up Vs arm into their head and Optics. They had similar options available in CP2020, but they were considerably more expensive, as in both the cyberware link system and the Smartgun modification of your gun to use it. Side tangent about Smatguns: Their ammo doesn't actively track your target, the weapon itself discharges when you have it lined up with your intended target to maximise accuracy. You can modify ANY gun to be a Smartgun after all. The "Smartguns" in 2077 are actually a 2027+ level of technology called Geniusguns, AKA Genies, that are a purpose built weapon and not a modification like Smartguns are. Their ammo does actively track your painted target like the 2077 "Smartguns" do. Considering that the 2077 "Smartguns" are themselves purpose built weapons with tracking ammo and not a Non-tracking modification you can do to ANY gun then they are actually Genie's, not Smartguns. The fact we get detailed readouts, diagnostic info, ammo counters and specialised control functionality from ALL of the guns in 2077 is actually interesting, being thay are key features of a full Smartgun link. That means ALL guns in 2077 are actually Smartguns by default, which makes sense given its been over 50 years. And that means the "Smartguns" are Genius Guns really, clearly the definition of "Smartgun" would shift if all guns are smart by default so that makes sense too I guess.

All the scenes you play through in the Cyberpunk game as Johnny isn't what really happened in the lore. But remember that you are playing them through the memory of Johnny and is why Johnny is able to one-shot everyone, and why the whole operation is planned, and executed around Johnny's vendetta. In short it is another brilliant way of the writers to illustrate through story telling rather than explaining what an egomaniac Johnny really is/was.

Morgan Blackhand is Mike Pondsmith's character. (Yes he was the character that the Creator of the Cyberpunk RPG played when playing the game) he's basically the Mordenkainen of Night City. Also a good way to think of Solo's in Cyberpunk, If you have played D&D, is as the games version of a Fighter. Except with a lot more firepower because well... Cyberpunk. Also they don't use merc, because all Edgerunners are mercs.

Every time I see Mitch from Pan ams camp I think blackhand (maybe it's the blackhand lol), he's a vet who fought in the same places, he survived the kang tau security at the downed AV and he managed to pilot the two man tank solo and Santiago was an Aldecado and he fought against Arasaka and Smasher, maybe Morgan became Mitch who took over after Santiago's death as Clan leader of the Aldecado's picking suitable public clan leaders and pulling the strings from the Shadows, Seems to me it was only after Saul lost Mitch's favor that he started loosing the Clan and a replacement was lined up in Panam.

I think this is a really interesting theory. The black hand really sent me for a mind-blow. I could see that, however, I don't think Mitch runs the show. I think if it is Blackhand, he might have joined Aldecados of a different reason. Maybe similar to a certain merc, maybe for a beautiful woman he was in love with. We do not know much about Mitch's backstory, other than him being Scorpion's good friend. Who would scorpion have been then?

I'm pretty sure solos are called solos instead of mercs is because they have no affiliation with any organization. They are still mercenaries, but they aren't mercenaries on a Arasaka or other corpo paycheck. They are basically private contractors that work at a gig-by-gig basis.

Okay, so the reason they call them Solos instead of just mercenary is a little complicated. 1) a Solo isn't just a merc. They *are* but they're a cut above. These are the people who can tell when you're drawing down on them from behind... without cybernetics. They have a "sixth sense" for combat. It's not a psychic power, it's a combination of skill, gut instinct, grit and experience. 2) they're often borderline sociopaths. They don't relate to people well, they're outside of regular society, though they can "function" in it after a fashion. All of the other Roles have mundane applications, day to day job counterparts... except Solos. A security guard or even a soldier isn't a Solo. They are "alone", and an actual Solo is quite rare. Hence "Solo". Blackhand is a Solos Solo.

It's been said much like Marvel's Cable character Morgan Blackhand is based off of Clint Eastwood of Dirty Harry movie fame. Biopod is basically all your organs and vital bits in a black box type of thing found after plane crashes. It's meant to be a failsafe for when you die you can be put into a new body or machine. This is how Atom Smasher survived.

While you are correct about what a biopod is, I have to (respectfully) disagree that Morgan Blackhand had one or used one. Blackhand was never a Full Borg, and he didn't have much use for them. He saw their reliance on tech to that level as an inherent weakness. He even bragged about taking them out. He had a gun he called "Shake and Bake", a heavy submachinegun (iirc) with side-by-side underslung grenade launcher (Shake) and Microwave Cannon (Bake). One touch of Bake would turn most Borgs (MOST, but not the likes of Adam Smasher as his chasis, the Samson, is inherently shielded against EMP) into a twitching mess of parts. Finally, back to the bio-pod... you gotta be a Full Borg to utilize one. It's safe to assume Blackhand never went that rout.

He's got a very storied and bloody history in the universe and a (direct) body count near to a thousand. Women. Children. Old Ladies. Doesn't matter, he kills indiscriminately. He once opened up with a Helix (a gattling 10ga. drum fed shotgun) in a crowded mall on a job for Arasaka and skated because Arasaka covered for him. People just minding their own business were massacred. He did it for the laughs.

I feel the cutaway in the Arasaka bombing mission was an enough indication that Morgan dropped in to save him, ultimately proving useless as Adam had slipped away by letting the rest of the elite group take on Backhand, while Adam went upstairs to “finish” Johnny off

Honestly, I want to be Ambushed by a Solo. If you piss off the wrong gang or Organization, Naturally they want to " Zero" you. Imagine them sending someone after you, defeating them, finding out WHO SENT THEM, then Attacking the right place. Building the right amount of standing with a Fixer would allow them to Alert you ahead of time before the Solo is sent out after you. That way you can earn your title as a Solo, by killing another Solo.

In my mind, the diffrence between a solo and a merc is that a solo is an umbrella term for a fighter while merc refers exclusively to a solo who can be hired for jobs. My reasoning for this is that you can be a corporate solo and technically be directly employed by them, as opposed to a merc who'd work for whoever will pay them.

Just a note abour Mr Blue Eyes: given the whole point of that quest at the time is about rogue AIs controlling people's minds, I think Mr Blue Eyes is controlled by an AI, and the fact that you can't target him, hack him or do anything to him, plus the fact that the AI's voice is in your head before you meet Peralez in the park, and they're able to make you collapse and lose consciousness says to me that they're already in V's head too - maybe through the "Malfunctioning TV Screen" in the apartment?

Any of you wondering I would highly suggest scouring game stores and old used book stores for the lore of Cyberpunk stories from the past 20 years of underground tabletop game modules and especially this one. Without spoiling what you want to know - I know you will enjoy it. We are all so close together and Cyberpunk has a history as rich as Tolkien never created.

Silverhand is a main character in 2077 (basically the co-lead) so it makes sense they'd go with the 'unreliable narrator' angle and keep the flashbacks focused on him instead of introducing a character that makes Silverhand look like a total pussy, then disappears from the story. Hell, Alt explicitly says Johnny's version is BS, and there's a gap in the flashback between Smasher's arrival and Johnny reaching the roof which suggests Johnny blanked out the part where Blackhand saved his ass. CDPR put millions of dollars and years of hard work into 2077, they were under no obligation to even reference these stories so the fact they recreate parts of them cinematically is just plain awesome. Them writing in a "hey this is basically non-canon, we're not overwriting lore here" angle to it as well it's a nice mark of respect. Take it from a long time Fallout fan.. I wish Bethesda had done that lol

For the M. Blue eyes stuff, I disagree and still think that it might be him. Correct me if I'm wrong, but nobody ever said anything about Mr Blue eyes being a techie, he is just, as mentioned by viktor via is message in the path of glory ending, as an unknown character in night city, which is such a very rare thing as mentioned by the message you can read from the ripper doc, he might just be a representative of a much more larger organization than usual corpos we know. in the lore and game, Mr blue Eyes is the only guy anyone doesn't know anything about... And, Morgan blackhand, appears to be one of the only character in the game and the lore, that seems to be "missing". no body knows where the guy is, or if he is dead or alive, so again it fits perfectly (at least, this theory can't be busted yet) and for a real fact, in the coding of the game, Mr blue eyes hair are called "Morgan backhand's hair". plus you mentioned as a fact again that in the games book, blackhand told via his own written words that wearing technical gears and weapon might let everyone know that you are a solo, so the outfit Mr blue eyes is actually wearing kinda fit with this idea , I mean, the guy disappeared long ago, and isn't reported as dead so wearing such kind of outfit keep him under the radar, who would think by looking at him that he would be a legendary solo? Mr blue eyes isn't the one who truly control the peralez, he is just one making sure the organization he works for can do it without any problems. So for me, it still can be possible that the both of them are the same. Anyway, Great video! Still hoping to see a very good patch for the 1.5, and of course a big DLC that could explain this Love your videos!

@@Giga_Nerd Morgan Blackhand has brown eyes if I'm not mistaken? Also white caucasian, with black hair and a black hand/arm. If the blue eyes really are only because he is a doll, I think there might be some meaning behind it. But again there is the theory that Blue eyes and dorsett are ionvolved in political control stuff which wont suit Morgan Blackhand as he has nothing to do with Politics and politics is more like Arasaka/Nilitech stuff. Hopefully we see more of him in the expansions tho.

Rogue also stays young and active physically for being somehwat also a night legend and Hanako is older than most grannies out there xD Morgan Blackhand probably has some tech magic going that keeps him similarly young as we know him from the lore. He probably just hides his physical appeareance or plans/strikes from the shadows where no one is aware of his presence. I would love to see him though. I feel for me personally characters like Morgan keep me in the game. Like if I hear a line in game about Blackhand that I have never heard before I lose it, but it is starting to run dry for me :( here is to hoping no matter what they have in store for the DLC Blackhand will make an appearance :)

Oh and a BioPod was a BORGS container system that held the brain, spine-neck of a Cyborg.. as pretty much everything else was chrome. I think what they also need, is examples of paths to take. For instance, Morgan was a Merc with many cyber upgrades like his Black Right Arm 12mm SMG, etc... He usually concealed an SMG and Hand Grenades. He also had many defences against EMP, Dazzlers, etc. He was great at Stealth, Brawling and actually, his Tech was pretty good as well. You could say he was a great Infiltrator at getting in and out of places, and since his skeletal was pretty much chromed as well, he was a great brawler. His weapon of choice was DEMO, or SMG's

Johnny was a victim of smasher which is why it's cathartic when v and Johnny eventually kill smasher not his rival not some grand ending for him. Just so nobody who he killed a long time ago and some nobody who he hanged down briefly. That's night City the city of dreams because that's all that's left

If you play the one last mission the sun (night city legend) the Spaceshuttle go to the laptop and read the message from Viktor vector he tells you: I have no idea or no info’s about mr blue eyes I think he is on a very high league this is a different level.

So, I'm the guy who nuked the tower. 1998, Mike Pondsmith is running the assault on Arasaka Tower as a convention game at Origins Game Convention. I was playing in that game, as part of Militech's assault team led by Blackhand. I made a mistake and accidentally triggered the nuke.

For me I think it will be in another City or out in outskirts of night city for the next Dlc. I've noticed if you go out the oil fields with Johnny, if you continue out on the main road you have a sign saying you're now leaving night city. However an in game notification says turn back now, you can't leave here yet. So in think that's a hint for the next Dlc expansion.

I feel like us seeing Adam smasher as Johnny’s rival in the game makes sense it was from Johnny’s perspective after all and he is a very narcissistic person that thinks the world revolves around him so he would see no other way than that arasaka (and thus smasher) is HIS great rival

To be a legend in Night City is to DIE in Night City. Blackhand did not die in NC, but who is to say he did not die elsewhere. But what is death? Maybe he is alive and the Blackhand that was idolized is dead, now a fragment of what he once was. Maybe he is just a washed out merc or he is burried somewhere in Tokyo or Mikoshi. We do find Blackhand's shoes in NC. I would imagine those would be large shoes to fill. Either way, Blackhand is not in the game and holds little relevance to V and the '77 story.

Being a solo in the cyberpunk world doesn’t mean they work by themselves all the time. It means they don’t belong to a Corp, gang, or larger group like such. For instance, David & the rest of his crew in EdgeRunners, are all considered “Solo’s”

Merc to me is more..... well the all encompassing term for netrunners like Lucy and Murphy as well as solos like Blackhand and David. Merc is the job. Solo is how they do it.

A solo is short for a solo merc. They operate alone in physical space. They always would have a netrunner... their chrome is for battle. But you can't be a merc without a fixer, corpo gig, gang lord, etc... got to have clients.

@@lucylucian2564 again, how's that a fair comparison? V was able to beat him because we are V. He's a player character, he's meant to beat the big evil bad guy. That being Adam smasher in this instance. Blackhand also didn't have the technology of 2077 when he tried to kill smasher, so for all we know, he can kill smasher, just didn't get the modern day opportunity to do so. Maybe he was just weaker in comparison to Adam smasher back in 2022.

Blackhand is the Number 1 Solo, although now that V exists, I gotta say V is the best, maybe was😂 I do think that Blackhand is still alive, but I also think it’s unlikely because I mean that was a Nuke and he was still on the building when it went off and we know he was still on it fighting Smasher. A falling building plus all the radiation makes me think he didn’t survive the aftermath of the fight. Either way as of now it’s unconfirmed, maybe they’ll bring him back for the DLC, since Militech is gonna be a main force in it and Blackhand was their main merc. I guess we’ll just have to wait. Also there’s no way he’s involved with Mr. Blue Eyes at all, not his style. I do have to say that Morgan did teach people his tricks, he wrote books about being a solo as well.

There’s multiple ways, for one he doesn’t have a drink in the Afterlife, also there’s the report of a guy with a black cyber arm killing a bunch of people in Kabuki. I really hope they bring him in for the Phantom Liberty DLC, but we’ll have to wait. As for him outrunning the explosion, not likely at all even with the Sandevistan, but Blackhand was heavily chromed out, he had nanotechnology inside him so that might’ve given him an out when injured in the fallout of the nuke. I seriously doubt if he escaped the explosion that he had no injuries, so I’m expecting him to have more metal when he resurfaces.

To be honest, I really want Morgan to appear in the game fully. Theoretically, of course, we can say that he is Mr. Blue-eyed, but there is no official data on this. I think if Morgan enters into a full-fledged relationship with anyone in 2077, he will demolish almost anyone, since his master is incredible. Unless V can lose To be honest, I'm more than sure that the second season of the anime on coberpunk will just tell about Morgan Blackhand, and also reveal where he disappeared. But with a high probability, the anime will be set in the distant past (2023)

I haven't played CP 2077 since launch. It had the most amount of crashes I've seen in a game. The second was the Witcher 3 with the final update on PS4, the wolf school armor set is still bugged, so I don't know what people were expecting. CP 2077 was a good game. I kind of want to return to it using a different build, but the post-game is non-existent if you're like me and do all the side quests. Not to mention the disappointment of the lack of a post-game, Friggin' BS if you ask me. "Yeah, we'll just restart you at the final mission." Ugh, friggin' deplorable.

So this isnt true because we see adam smasher and johnny right before the explosion in a flashback . Adam smasher looks somewhat normal and nothing like the borg we see him later. So adams fall did not cause him to borg out. That was caused by the nuclear explosion during the 4th corporate war.
