"Never Fade Away" is the title of an adventure campaign from the original tabletop where Johnny Silverhand's girlfriend is kidnapped by Arasaka and the players assume the roles of him and his party to storm the Arasaka Tower to try and rescue her. The entire campaign is adapted into a flashback sequence where you play from Johnny's point of view in the quest named, of course, "Never Fade Away".

I think that, unlike the mission in the game, the adventure campaign from the tabletop had multiple endings.

@@Gamer88334 Yes that's true, but because that was a tabletop rpg where choice and other possibilites must be a thing. But even so, there is an outcome that's always considered canonical, specially after CP77 which requires Alt to be killed for the story to happen. And in 2077, we're reliving Johnny's memories, so it had to be one way only so the whole story could actually happen anyways.

@@sampthiago What's cool is Johnny's memories aren't accurate in the game. He's an unreliable narrator and put himself into Morgan Blackhand's role, who happens to be suspiciously missing from Johnny's flashbacks.

I think Never Fade Away encapsulates the overal feel and tone of the Cyberpunk setting better than any other song on the OST, licenced or otherwise A mix of rage, hope, rebellion and chorous that mimic some of the best 80's metal songs like Dokken or Motorhead

Funny thing, but I've been thinking because of the game genre and how it's tied to the music, LittleVMills' voice fits better. Tabletop came in the 80's, and the way he sings and pronounces the words he sings, with that particular cadence, fits 80's rock better imo.

The song feels very nostalgic/melancholic. It feels like the whole video is a tragic nostalgia trip, even though there is none to have. I love it. Especially the last third with the main riff and the second guitar in the background hits right in the guts. Nice Job LittleV!
