@ well duh. at 4k the game tends to be gpu bound so doesn’t matter what cpu you use at that point, but doesn’t deny the fact that amd usually has the better processors

Hey guys, reminder that DLSS quality at 4k is basically 1440p output. So without framegen you can imagine what the frames are native. Right now the 4090 does like 90fps with framegen. So maybe 40-50 with DLSS quality 4k. 5090 should be able to nail 70-80 fps without gen so with framgene enabled it would bring it to like 120fps which is niiice.

Please, can you test Diablo 4 WITHOUT Framegen and DLSS in 1080p, with MAX raytracing? This is one of the most CPU-heavy and CPU-limited scenarios (like Homeworld 3) I've seen, and NOBODY has tested Diablo 4 without framegen with RT so far.

You can eliminate that autosave stutter by going to cyberpunks Engine Folder/Config/ then Base & create an ini file & name it userfile. Then add these lines SaveConfig AutoSaveEnabled=false. Note you need square brackets around the SaveConfig line

I think the price right now for both the 7800X3D and the 9800X3D is ridiculous. About 330 is reasonable imo for the 7800X3D and 380 for the 9800X3D.

Is your 4090 overclocked? I notice in comparable benchmarks and on my own system that I run around 60-70fps with the same settings and you’re getting 85-95.

This cpu is really showing. But I think it will shine even more with X870E chipset and then memory at higher frequency. I think 7600 low cl is possible.

Hey, what vbios is on your 4090? Yours is getting way more wattage than my MSI one does (it never pulls over 380w, even in C2077)

@@etchyo Standard Suprim X bios with 520W limit I believe. If you play AFOP at 4K or the Division 2 with an overclocked 4090, you are breaching 360W easy.

couldn't you use hwinfo to bring the data for the 9800x3d? It seems to work fine for me.

That is what I have done. The CPU temperature, voltage, power draw, and clock speed is all Hwinfo64. It just won't allow me to organise that data the way I would like while using MSI Afterburner.

from what i heard 9950x3d will be relese at december, most people thing will have double 3d cache but i think they unified the 3dcache between ccd, now that's under the cores because to be 20% fast than 9800x3d in factorio it mean they change something, i remember 7950x3d was much slower than 7800x3d in factorio ps. did you want to sell your 7900xtx plus 7800x3d online? if you ll plan do it let us know when, because im interested in that build.....anyway with rtx 5090 coming you made the good thing to buy the 9800x3d so you already ready with best gaming cpu for 5090, then if 9950x3d it's faster even better because this generation apart for 9800x3d gaming performance are the same or worse

Hello @bang4buckgamer, Is the 9800x3d fast while just doing general usage in windows/scrolling/browsing around, etc? I read about some other youtuber (frame chasers, he seems like a Intel shill to me) that keeps saying x3d chips are very sluggish in windows. Could you help me clarify this please, its very important for me to have a cpu thats snappy not only in gaming but scrolling around in windows as well. Thanks in advance.

I use a 14900KS Z790 platform as my daily driver ,and work PC with 8400MHz DDR5. So far I honestly can't tell any difference using my 9800X3D.

is your 4090 on a custom waterloop. thats a nice OC. I got a 9800x 3d now as well. Getting about 10 fps on average less than you i suspect because my 4090 maxes at 2820mhz on air

I use MSI Afterburner and I am using my Stock MSI Suprim X bios which has a 520W limit. If you have a 380W limit then the only thing you can do is undervolt.

What actual benefits does 9800x3d bring for 4K right now? At 4K, everything looks GPU bound. I am sure the 9800x3d is immensely powerful but I don't see the fps increasing in 4K compared to previous Cyberpunk uploads with different CPU and same preset. Is it perhaps a more overall smoother experience so less stutters? It seem to benefit only gaming on 1080p which is nice for esports fans. What is the 3D cache doing that we actually can see on the screen? Love to hear some thoughts.

Its all about stability. More CPU calculated "already" less calls gpu does to the cpu to ask what I have to do next. You will get more straight line of fps drawing from your gpu. It has less hiccups, less stutters. We say its more smooth. Btw, you can check how different the min number of fps between CPUs. You will see the difference between 60 min and 240 max, when modern cpu can give you 180min and 240max, for example.

@@romankovalev9485 Thanks bro. Stability is definitely a must for me. I am looking for a reason to upgrade from my 7950X (non 3D). I do get stutters on some games, in Hogsmeade on Hogwarts Legacy and in Novigrad on The Witcher 3. I play The Witcher 3 every winter so a smoother experience is a good reason to upgrade. I might upgrade from the 4090 to 5090 next year, I think the 9800x3d will then be able to really stretch it's legs.

You say you want to try -40 CO.. well.. one thing to keep in mind is,, to test for if your CPU is not actually clock stretching... Some people in the overclocking discord say, NO processor does -30 out of the box and will be unstable / clock stretching.. but you have to see for yourself.

Its true I tried- 40, Once I powered up Prime 95 it crashed even though Cin 24 score mc was 1344. -25 CO is stable for now after 2 hours stress test.
