One of the scariest missions in a video game I have ever experienced...Not exactly because it was super scary itself, but because it's the final mission of the DLC of a game where you basically become the most powerful person ever in the game's world by the time you finish the game/DLC, and yet you are completely powerless against this robot and it was so unexpected....

I mean - not like stealth build really helps all that well. The only really useful thing is crouch sprint since it allows you to crouch quicker. Everything else doesn't really help much since this thing sees basically in a straight line, but if that line crosses you - instdant takedown. It's very different from how normal stealth works. There's no stealth meter or anything. Just one line of sight

Nah bruh, it’s actually a terrifying thing if you look closer at the details. Basically, the AI’s are using it as a spy camera to gain more information about the real world. The more you use it, the more they learn about us and how to break through the blackwall. And it’s definitely not your buddy. The rogue AI obeys you as part of their greater plan, but it makes it clear that it _really_ doesn’t like you.

The map design in this mission also counter the movement. Just the first part where you opened the jammed door the game let you utilize air dash to run from the mech 😂 otherwise it is impossible to run once it detect you like insta death

I was baffled at how it was easy to avoid detection. The robot has a very narrow field of vision. The ambiance, the music and the robot itself are scary but the danger is minimal. The really dangerous part is the sprinting sequence to the airlock as you can waste time because of not so responsive controls and stress, and even then...

I actually got jumpscared in the vent because I went the wrong way. When I didn't see the robot I thought the way was clear and got redscreened in the blink of an eye. That was the first time a game jumpscared me properly and I played deadspace.

Yeah it was scary af and definitely had me stressed, but the part where it traps you in the room made me realize I was tweaking for nothing. Just crouched and circled it around a table until it left lol. Not sure why people are complaining about this sequence being bullshit, the only part I died was during the aforementioned room trap (I panicked and tried to force the door open lol)

Yeah, a little disappointed with the robot's AI. Robot should be roaming around each room fast enough and detecting footsteps. I sprint allthroughout this mission and it didn't detect me. During crucial cutscenes was it only scary, and the part where V destroys the servers. Other than that, it was a walk in the park. Miles away from being an Alien Isolation. Still kinda fun and memorable though. I hope they improve the robot in next patch 2.03.

I recently did this mission. There is a bug where if you simply break the neural stabilizer connectors without checking the terminal first the robot will get locked in place for a while. You can walk out of the room but I dared not walk past this thing. I went into another room to see if there was a way to get it working again. And when I closed the steam browser after not finding a solution the god damn thing had unglitched itself and I was jumpscared at 2am getting killed by this thing...

@vergil9p what you dont understand about the robot itself is that its a very special prototype maintenance robot, and im not talking your average one, this one was designed to resist insane levels of heat, radiation, explosive, damage you name it, its made from materials that make it near indestructible, in order to perform maintenance on areas that not even humans in the most protective suits can go to, the materials its made from are no doubt insanely expensive to make hence why they never left the prototype state. none of your equipment is capable of harming it, the only person i could see damaging it is possibly adam smasher with his insane anti machine tech, and as for hacking it yeah good luck trying to netrun an advanced ai that can ICE itself ten trillion times better then you can, your not gonna do any hacking to it, put simply its a robot that only has its drills to kill you, but its practically unkillable unless you had a super strong EMP to kill it. the diffrence between adam smasher and this robot is that adam smasher is just a cyberpsycho who is insanely kitted out with the strongest weapons, wheras this robot is basically an invincible machine with only drills, an unstoppable force vs an immovable object

This DLC has completely screwed me up... On one hand, you have a recreation of No Russian where you are caught in the crossfire. On the other hand, you have Alien Isolation meets Dead Space and Techno-Eldritch Horror. Never going for this ending again, I refuse to ever play through this level another time (Unless NG+ gets released, because I want to do a full playthrough with all the cool toys without mods.)

A small reminder that Adam Smasher isn't the most frightening thing in Cyberpunk world. This MG Excelsus wannabe is just the beginning. Lore-wise the New Soviets had cyborg warriors and robots that were nearly indestructible, could rip superheavy tanks apart with bare hands and possibly survive a direct hit from a nuke. Imagine if one was captured by a rogue AI and V met some of that!

Dunno if it is by design, but since most ppl. start playing in the late afternoon or early evening, from when you get Reed's call to ambush MaxTac to following Song into Cynosure to finish the DLC in that sitting, you are guaranteed a late night meeting with Cerberus giving it an extra kick. Pacing was all over the place in CP77 but is incredible in PL.

Also, doing leg work and getting right tools for the job is the essence of Cyberpunk rpg, it's not "sidequest for macguffin", it's preparation for one of the biggest stunts in history of NC.

The AI kills most of your cyberware when you are going down the elevator so yeah he would probably die instantly due to him being 96% cyberware. Doubt his tech could defend itself against the blackwall AI.

I mean, the game is pretty all over the place when it comes to V's power level. One minute you're destroying a massive Chimera mech, the next you're being shit-talked by Idris Elba (who doesn't actually demonstrate any exceptional abilities in the whole expansion). One minute you're solo-ing Adam Smasher who's supposed to be one of the top mercs in the world in the next you're being told that you're nothing compared to this legendary Aguilar. One minute you're ripping your way through Arasaka Tower, the next you have to hide from a maintenance bot that instantly kills you. I could go on. The game is very much guilty of "V is as weak or powerful as the plot needs them to be right now."

You're having to hide because all your cyberware is disabled thus making you a regular joe and not a top level merc

@@curtisboatman1009 No it does not I can still dash which is super human by all accounts my guns still work and my forearm cyberware still works including my 30k damage per shot projectile launcher 30k is like 40% health of Adam smasher in one hit if that maintenance bot just had an actual hit box and a health pool I would kill it easily, but devs just wanted to make more stupid mistakes and bullshit alien isolation at home so here we are.

@@warman3096 Except the maintenance bot isn't a regular one either. It's an experimental prototype developed by militech in a top secret bunker so of course it's going to be fully armored up. Bullets or projectiles don't do shit no matter how good your build is

@@curtisboatman1009 1: there is no such thing as indestructible or unable to be damaged imagine iron being indestructible you cannot mine it you cannot melt it shape it or use it in ANY WAY even the most advanced tank in the word IRL will turn into a heap of junk with enough damage done to it. 2: there is a unique version of the SPT GRAD you can get called O'FIVE and in its description it says it's powerful enough to shoot down AV's it does approximately 700dmg at tier 5++ my projectile launcher does 30k it should bring down buildings and aircraft carriers and so on in one hit. 3: and so is the chimera it's an experimental prototype 8th generation model that should not be in any major testing filed until 2080 yet here we are with my V taking it down in less then 1 min IRL. In conclusion it's just bullshit, in fact if you give that bot a hit box and a health poll trough mods it dies in one hit from my projectile launcher so get off your copium and use LOGIC AND CONTINUITY instead of taking things as fact without question.

All I’m reading from you is “waaahh, my build does this much damage or this gun does this damage, I should make mincemeat out of this.” But you’re forgetting the “why.” Why can we kill off Smasher so easily and not the maintenance bot? Because no matter how much Smasher denies it, he is still down to his core a human. He has some of the most advanced cyberware, but he is human. Humans have weaknesses like pain. That’s why during the fight he says “pain, I’ve forgotten this sensation.” Experimental prototype robots don’t have that weakness. You’re completely ignoring the lore that gives us the “why” and only want to live out your fantasy of blowing it up with your projectile system.
