Great review after so long. Always saw Cyberpunk mixing best parts of Farcry and Todd Fallouts: great "roleplaying" in terms of combat options, and big set pieces with fun missions to slot your gonk into. So hyped for the 2077 tabletop expansion coming soon.

I made a near indestructible tank in my last playthrough. Started speccing in Tech. Raising up my armor early and getting op grenades. Then specced on the health and regeneration skills of the strength build. Got upgrades for armor, automatic health packs, chance of explosion on hit... Basically I could walk toward the objective and watch all the enemies explode as they tried to hit me.

I played Cyberpunk from day one, I knew this shit was gonna be buggy as fuck but went for it anyway. What I got was one of the most well developed worlds I had ever seen. The most immersed I’ve ever been in a game is when Placid asks you who your “chrome shaman” is. I’m a fucking autistic nerd and now I’m going to college to write even more insane cyberpunk works in an attempt to make something just as fucking cool.

On the note of the stupid ending, that one is actually my favorite one. Not for the fate of the character, but for how it's handled in the writing and the credits. It probably wouldn't do as well for anybody's first ending, but I'd highly recommend everybody goes back, does it, and watches through the credits. Spoilers below. The ending is my favorite because it handles it with the kind of weight that that action has, and viscerally shows the effect it has. Everybody you interacted with ends up calling and leaving a message just to vent their pain and frustration that you gave up and took the easy way out. It's just a great, sombering reminder of just how much it hurts the people you leave behind. I felt horrible watching the credits, and I think everybody should get to experience that. Ideally on purpose instead of doing it on accident and just feeling like everbody is berating your departed soul for being an idiot.

One thing that stood out to me in reactions was how upset people were about bugs, and jank in general. I realized theres a huge hatred of jank in modern games, which is mindblowing because most of the best games of all time that arent hyperpolished console exclusives are actually very janky. New vegas, stalker, deus ex, kotor 2, etc. And a lot of incredible hidden gems mainly seem to get buried with people told to not even play them because of bugs and jank. Alpha protocol, cyberpunk before it got fixed, eye divine cybermancy, etc. I cant imagine dismissing a game because of jank, because tons of games were janky. But kids grew up with hyperpolished console games now, playing the same game (or its sequels) for years on end. They werent exposed to the number of games we were, all efforts are centralized on a small number of flagship titles for consoles or live service slop.

Great review. My personal favorite stealth option is the optic cameo sandevistan combo, dashing past them like a fart in the wind as they are clueless to me. I would also like to add one point you did get wrong. Some of the gigs do include bonuses if you manage to do them stealthy without getting caught.

Fair, writing a review as someone who's only played it post cleanup, I agree, It's pretty damn fun, and Keanu's performance as Silverhand is pretty good if iffy in some parts, but as a whole, it's pretty good. Also can't blame you for mods, when my friends bought it like when patch 1.5 released I had a specific modlist I gave them to fix driving and shit, lol.

That intro though 0:28 I pre-ordered on PC back when I had my old rtx 2060 super because I heard pc would fair better than my ps4 by some random guy on the net before launch, and I am glad I did to be frank. I loved the story with Jackie and Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves who I watched since Bill & Ted when I was a kid and often quotes his lines). I didn't have as much problems as other people playing the game, mostly had a few cars pop up when sitting on the ground in a wrong spot or npcs getting stuck in object once defeated. Now I got a rtx 4090 I had to save up for, and re-installed the game after a long break from it due to stuff in Phantom Liberty I won't spoil. 521 hrs thus far - (including breaks in between, otherwise it would've been longer), I like retrospectives, and so far this is awesome vid you made. 💯

I don't care what the game is classified as. All I know is that it's an immersive game I can play just about any time. The launch was bad but after 2.0 I'm very pleased. I doubt they can dial it up in a sequel and maintain the soul, but I'd not mind being surprised.

I love this game I wish everyone could play it on the higher graphics settings its beautiful in a way that I haven't seen anywhere else the atmosphere+fidelity is unmatched, for those who want to experience cyberpunk but don't have a 40 series GPU, the FSR3 mod for 20/30 series cards will improve your system performance p significantly until they release official support for FSR3 which they've said they will but who knows when, at 1080p (vram is a little tight with my 3080) I was getting 80ish FPS with dips to 60 with pathtracing on with highest volumetric fog and very high graphics/reflections+clear windows mod, it's can be a pain but if you are running into performance issues it might help while keeping the game pretty/giving you a way into path tracing which has a different lighting feel than raytracing

I have been playing Cyberpunk2077 since it came out. It's been my top games since. This game feels like dishonored mixed with a little bit of fo4. It's such a good contrast compared to the witchers' pale-ness and its environment. Totally 2 different worlds. And as much as i can acknowledge Tw3 is good, i only played it once, and i never finished it. I got to the mountain scene and was so burnt out that i didn't care to finish the dlc. Im waiting for an upgrade to do that. But with cyberpunk, there was more than enough to keep me playing this whole time despite its many issues, but the issues were never enough to get me to stop playing for a long time. I think the longest i didn't play was a week. This games story is still amazing. I bought the game full price on console and half price for steam along with the dlc. I want to buy it full price on ps5 and get the dlc there too. I made sure i got my money's worth. I got a bunch of footage and been making music videos with some of the songs from the game. I got a few paintings out of it as well. If i die, I'd die one happy guy.
