Cyberpunk 2077 was always an amazing game even on release. Cyberpunk 2077 has gotten lots of hate for bugs and missing features so much so that many people forget about all the amazing moments and best moments in Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 music and characters like Judy, Panam, Viktor, Takemura, Jackie, Johnny Silverhand, and V. Cyberpunk 2077 defense of an amazing RPG or role playing game that is best RPG of all time and best video game music and best games ever. Cyberpunk 2077 is underrated and hated.

The Suicide Ending was the second ending i did. The game ended and i had managed to hold back my tears, but when Judy's message came on I utterly lost it. It's horrifying to consider that first she loses Evie, and then V to suicide and then, as her message implies, maybe even her own life. God this game does not hold back on the emotional gut punches...

yeah.... I had only ever gotten teary-eyed playing Gears of War when a certain character died. The suicide ending in Cyberpunk hit even harder than that. I was in a trance afterward, didn't go on to the next ending or on my phone, I just spent the next hour really reflecting on what matters in my life, far beyond career goals, far beyond impacting the world... it really is about the people we share our lives with in this short journey. Thank you, CDPR... Truly.

As someone who had suicidal thoughts at a certain point, I should have know that choosing the suicide ending would hit me hard. I wasn't expecting that. I was already crying by the time I made the decision in-game, and it only poured more. Judy's message opened the floodgates of my eyes. This game is a very deep cautionary tale. Story-wise, I'd say the deepest I've ever played.

-Johnny and v arguing at the edge of the blackwall -v and panam getting out of nc for good -Johnny being mad at the guitar boy for smoking These moments had the most emotional impact for me. Believe me, there's a lot of heartwrenching and heartwarming moments in this game. No other game did this.

Keanu Reeve's performance as Johnny is SO. DAMN. GOOD! Real actors being put into the game tends to rub a lot of gamers the wrong way but it was done extremely well here. I think we have also finally reached the point where it is technically possible for a character model based on a real actor to fit in the game and not feel out of place.

I did first the ALdecaldos ending, so it was a happy ending, but then i try this ending, and this was when i finally get it, i finally understood this game completely, the suicide ending is the most important of all, because it has a forth wall effect, it makes you see the consequences of suicide, this ending may even had helped people thinking in commiting suicide, to realize how devastating it would be for people who loved them, and turn them away from this path. Seeing Judy cry, after all she's been through, is heartbreking, is even more heartbreaking if you play as female V and romance her, then she is completely decimated, you not only broke her heart, but may as well made her choose the same ending for her. It is tragic, but again, seeing the consequences of this choice is devastating it will definetely broke your heart

Johnny took over my body even when he didn't want to and all the video calls from every major person, all that made me actually cry. My second play through, I got the best ending. When he bought the guitar I had a feeling of how I would like it to end, but I still was not ready. Adding to the emotional gut punch, I had somehow managed to not have seen Jackie's box at the Columbarium. I read that line (Good night, sweet prince) and was just wrecked. He told the kid "I didn't forget anything," and as the final messages played I literally could not get out of my chair. Only MASS EFFECT ever affected me this intensely, and if you'll forget the expression, not to the same depth of my soul . . .

my take on this game has and still is the same. it marketed itself as something more with lots on intricate things, hyping every single little detail. and then fall flat on its face upon release because none of those things promised is more than an ankle deep puddle. objectively as a game, it is a decent or even very good game with good looking environment. but unfortunately due to the way they marketed it back then, its just simply not me and many others are expecting. some stuff even borderline false marketing. and it being broken and buggy at launch just adding fuel to the fire. in the aftermath, i think it is now in a much better state than it was at launch, yet im still sad that there's still so much wasted potential in this game. the parkour and verticality that hasnt really been explored, the details and immersive stuff that only happen in a scripted scene (drinking, smoking, etc) and not in the open world that couldve add so much life, etc.

I have to agree. I played through all the endings (except for the special one where you can storm Arasaka solo). My first ending was when I became the big shot of night city, slowly dying, Judy leaving me. I was on top of the world, got everything I ever wanted...yet felt so alone. I thought, "What was the point? Was it really worth it?" The ending going off with the Aldecaldos and Judy joining me and a sense of hope felt perfect for me. That's what mattered were the characters I cared for. I agree that they underdelivered what they promised and there were weaknesses in the game. However, they totally delivered on the most important aspect of a game to me, and that's its story and that of the main side characters. As of now, this is my 2nd favorite game of all time, because of its story, behind The Witcher 3. I'm on my 3rd playthrough. Something about Night City keeps bringing me back. I love just driving around from place to place. The city design is amazing, the feel, the look of it. Other games with great stories that I've played include Dragon Age Origins, A Plague Tale Innocence, Hellblade and Bioshock Infinite. I don't care what anyone says, Cyberpunk is a great game.

I went played it with fresh mind running thru missions an found my story ending extremely quickly with a suicide the first time around. I thought I had to just finish the main missions an was pretty bummed out about my ending. So I started up a fresh character did all the side quest I could while keep the main missions for last hitting level 50 before the last mission an loved the ending I got your last scene becomes your own depending on how much time you put in the game, because of this game I’m opened minded on playing solo player games again but my bar of what to expect is raised so much higher now. Knowing nothing about the world of Cyberpunk, only knowing about the launch and the Edgerunners show, I went into the game with almost no expectations, made my Nomad V, and took the Bakkers family patch off, like I was taking my bias away from my gaming experience. My bias came back when I realized Night City is just an exaggerated version of the big cities in the USA, and the people that live there felt like real humans with lives of their own, not NPC’s designed to move the plot along or to give me a side gig. There were some characters I loved, some I became friendly with, some I had a neutral opinion on, some I had disagreements with but still respected them, and some I straight-up hated like Oswald Forrest aka Woodman, Jeremiah Grayson, and Yorinobu. About 44 hours into the game and I’m still not even close to done. Underrated masterpiece is a huge understatement.

You had to include the video clips from that ending didn't you. I'm in tears all over again. The characters and story in this game always have me coming back, loving every minute of it, inspired by every minute of it (literally, at least 2 of the albums I've put out are inspired by this game). I can't stress how much I love it, and I just feel bad for those who never gave it a chance. People always try to drag me into the bug/technical issue debate (often people who never played it and are relying on stuff they've heard) and honestly I didn't find that many issues. Do I have a handful of screenshots of random T-Posing, a car clipping slightly, or something not rezzing... yes but a rare few despite more than 200 hours played (on a PC that is near the min required). They were few, they weren't game breaking, and it rarely took me out of the story, which was absolutely phenomenal, in a setting that is gorgeous, and with characters I really came to love

Thank you for making this. I’m 45 and In the last 20 years almost all single player first person games felt boring to me - and after a serious multiplayer shooter addiction (I attempted to become pro in Unreal Tournament) that is not something I want in my life again. Cyberpunk however made me build a gaming rig again. I spend hours in night city and love (almost) every second of it. It is a master piece in story telling and world building. I started to play when 1.5 came out, so although I encountered the occasional hilarious bug, it was always clear to me what they where attempting to convey. And there are so many memorable moments that made me reflect on life, the choices we make, that even if we are attempting to do good we sometimes to evil. How experiences can scar us or make us stronger or both. It’s just great. BTW Judy in the suicide ending also touched me a lot.

There's very few games that have managed to bring me to tears. Even the one I hold as the best game I've ever played, Nier Automata just barely didn't manage that. It absolutely got me thinking, sure, but didn't get me extremely emotional. It hit hard, but I kept it together. OneShot absolutely managed to do it, for obvious reasons. But this? Cyberpunk? It hit me like nothing ever has before. I went into this game completely blind. All I knew were vague details about the world, and nothing more. I assumed Jackie was going to be your companion throughout the game. Yeah, that didn't happen. Just something about that last scene with him, when you're in the car, trying to keep him from dying, just trying to talk to him managed to get to me. But the option to say "See you in the big leagues." just completely sent me over the edge. I had to stop for a while, just to process it all. And it wasn't just that, I got "The Devil" ending on my first playthrough. Seeing this character, who I purposefully made to look as close as possible to me, walk into the operating room, and holding that bullet necklace really made me realize that I had forgotten about everyone that helped me get to that point. The phone calls didn't help either. Viktor, saying he'd give you a free checkup when you got back, Panam being more and more busy and forgetting about you, and the person you helped, Hanako, just straight up not responding really cemented that I was just going to be another random person in Arasaka's vault, and I left everyone who actually cares behind. Even the deranged terrorist in V's head, someone he could talk to even when he had nobody else, was gone. And in some ways I kinda regret treating him so coldly throughout the game, just because of that last line he says before leaving. I told him to get out, and, well, I got my wish. He certainly wasn't a friend. More like a captive audience. But he was someone. Maybe V will get put into a new body somewhere in the far, far future. But when he does, he'll be just as alone as when he started, with nobody to help, and nobody to run to. As someone who has a hard time socializing, yet wants friends and people who I can trust, and vice versa, that one hit hard. Again, I had to stop and just... think. That's an accomplishment. You did good, CDPR.
@Iaotle

Let me preface this by saying I've enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077 immensely, and did not encounter the many bugs and glitches that most people have, playing it on a beast PC with raytracing, and never watched any of the trailers past the first two. Therefore I did not feel cheated out of the features that were promised but never delivered by CDPR. I'm a fan of the story, but you kind of have to admit that the story isn't finished. There are many moments that show huge potential - the whole intro with Jackie and Dexter, trauma team, the crazy MaxTac - that were cut almost entirely from the game after having a brief scripted encounter. Doing missions for corporations, or being a fixer - all of these awesome opportunities for engaging story-rich content and quests were reduced to one mission (Meredith), and simple "walk there, shoot dudes" quests. While I think the endings are good (especially the suicide ending, holy shit, that hit me in the feels), I personally wish they'd spent more time developing V as a character before Johnny starts to live in his head rent-free. Another 20 hours of story content pre-Johnny would have done this game wonders.

I dont think this is necessarily a bad take but I think it's unreasonable to expect. A movie doesn't start before the action. Neither does a book. In fact when you learn writing as an art you'll hear two tips repeated: write what you know, and start at the beginning. Sounds simple but these are expanded on when you study. A story starting from the beginning is explained as being the start of the plot. You dont start a story to build context for 20hrs (an entire game in itself) before getting to your story. The story is about V and Johnny. It'd about their relationship and the way they help each other deal with death. The themes are about the soul and coming to terms with death. Every story beat, every character, is in service to this. 20hrs of getting to know someone is just avoiding the theme. I know it's hard to watch them go too soon, but that's the point. They made all the right choices and the impact hits hard as a result. That's why people keep saying stuff like this video. It's not meant to be a universe you live in forever. It's not an escape from your life you can play for the rest of your time. It's a story and it starts exactly where it should and ends exactly where it should. That feeling of wanting more is part of that theme of coming to terms with death.

Hard disagree saying all the missions are "walk there, shoot dudes." Many missions, big and small, you can talk or sneak your way through without even drawing a weapon. There's WAY more player freedom than any open world RPG out today and the game doesn't get enough credit for that. The level design is superb and only makes the gameplay freedom standout more.

@@mandu6665 This 100%, I thought the same. I've played the game four times already and I never approach missions the same way and I know each of them very well. I mean every single gig and side mission is different and you decide your own path. There is literally only one mission type that is go there and shoot someone and they're specifically described as Gun For Hire. And even those you don't have to actually Gun them down. This should also take into account how scanner hustles reference the people from the gigs and the gigs build context for the side missions which give context for the main missions. Everything you do in this game reveals layers to its world and story and I've never played a game that treats their xontent this way. And I'm a pretty hardcore gamer. I played Doom as my first video game when I was three. I've played consoles and PC since the early 90s and like all sorts of games. I also went to college for writing for entertainment. I legit studied the writing of games and this game is a masterclass. You can already find videos online breaking down how this game's writing is a lesson for others.

I 100% agree with everything you’ve said. I tried it a week ago (as of writing this.) I was very skeptical - I knew the game was “fixed” in terms of bugs but I’d still heard mixed things about the game itself. But I saw what the 1.6 patch added, so I gave it a try, because it’s got a 5 hour trial on PS+. Man, I am so glad I tried it. As soon as the trial ended, I bought it without any second thoughts. Cyberpunk 2077 is flawed, but in my 35 hours so far, I’ve completely ignored those flaws. They didn’t mat Tee to me, because I fell in love with the presentation, atmosphere, and most importantly, story and characters. The people in the story all feel so real, with their own hopes and dreams, friends and enemies. The gunfights and car chases and set pieces may be a spectacle, but eventually the adrenaline fades away, and you’re left with the quiet moments in between the action. Talking with someone about what you’ve lost and what you want to do in your life, attending to a funeral for a lost friend, helping someone overcome their trauma, and so on. That is what I think truly makes the game so special - the interactions with the characters. Some of the side quests don’t even give you any “rewards.” Instead, the reward is a nice conversation with someone. I haven’t played anything else quite like it in that regard.

And how huge and detailed the world is. How you find little details even in random places on map, not marked by any specific marker, but still have a little story or tragedy unfolding there. I don't know if the game was truly unplayable on PC at launch, I can tell you even at 3070 it can run sluggish with RTX on, BUT there is absolutely zero wrong with any of the stories and world building with it. At least so far as far as I can see. Appreciate your video.

As a huge fan of the Mass Effect trilogy myself, the experiences I went through playing Cyberpunk 2077 were too damn close to my heart. And you have put it together perfectly, literally taking words from my mouth. It is a dark, a grimmy feeling & the Edgerunners anime further explorers this concept of CP2077 which was overshadowed by gamers who just thought of it as a plain FPS RPG game. My first playthrough was 600 hours long, every bit of the world, the interconnected and parallel stories, the nightmare and the dream that is Night City itself. CP2078 will always be special to me just like Mass Effect has been for over a decade. In the end, Thanks for this video and keep doing the good work ✌️

This game is one of the best experiences I ever had with a game, for the exact reasons you said in the video, when I finished the first time, I died during the Secret Ending, and the calls are very similar to that of the suicide ending, and it hit me like a truck, at the end I was crying and I realized that for the first time an ending of a game really had an impact on me, it was not just some moment of feeling good for another challenge beat. At that moment I really wanted to go back and finish the Secret Ending victorious, not because of the different ending, but because I wanted a different end for that story, an ending were those "friends" would not "suffer". And as someone who has being through suicide attempts, it made me reflect more of the people we leave behind when we take that step, and the suffering we cause to those that love us. I would never expect that a game would make me reflect that way in the end.

I'm happy this game is getting the recognition it deserves and is making a sort of comeback, if you see past all the politics of what happened it is a truly revalation of your own mind and how you perseve your pursuits money and glory and reflect why you are chasing material things like that in the first place. When all along all most of us really are striving for is that familiarity, that belonging, a place to call home with people that we truly care about and that care about you. Another great video man, keep it up with the top notch content 👏

i played cyberpunk since release and always enjoyed it, rarely encountered game breaking bugs. people who still hate on this game just because their favourite youtuber said its bad 2yrs ago need to play it themselves and form their own opinion

Same shit happened with Fallout: New Vegas. Many incorrectly called it a "Fallout 3 DLC" and said it was just more of the same.

Played a decent amount myself and will still say I hate most parts in it as an RPG and GTA fan. The city just seems dead and doesn’t seem like they implemented a lot of things as good as they have been able to done. The Witcher 3’s writing blows most of what I have seen of this games and any side content that I have touched has been some of the blanded in recent years. Though haven’t touched what I could say is an actual side quest as I only put 37ish hours in game and part of that is a restart after they fixed most of the bigger bugs.

I like many recently took another look at cyberpunk 2077 after it’s anime and I realised what a game I had just ignored because of all the negative stuff talked about it but after taking a new look at I saw a world and story that was truly captivating to me. Now that’s my speech over just to say a your video is a great and covers a lot of what I think many people are starting to see in cyberpunk

I picked Panam and I don't want to choose other end then that. It feels fulfilling to see V not letting go who around him and the message for him.

@ FranklyGaming My very first play through ended with V taking her own life. Until that moment I’d been playing CP2077 around 10 hours a day for the past 2 weeks… It took 3 till I felt like I was in a good enough headspace to step foot back into Night City. I genuinely feel sorry for all the ones who wrote it off and gave up on it. I couldn’t put a price on the emotional journey CP2077 sent me on it’s absolutely priceless. A sincere and heartfelt thank you for this video. Multiple times throughout as I listened it was like hearing my own words in your voice. I’ve talked in countless streams and other groups about how and how much CP2077 affected me in a way I never thought a video game could and every time I felt as if I was the only one but after watching this video and reading the comments it’s so good to know I’m not alone.

I share the sentiments you do, I'm here because of the end of your iceberg video. Man I love cyberpunk, I've always loved it. Even when I was playing it at release, I had a friend who told me it was trash. I actually ended up convincing him to get it lol

100% agree. I've been playing from day one on PS4 Pro and I'm now on the PS5 and about to finish my 5th playthrough. The game has the richest and deepest lore and world in gaming History. Great video ✌🏻

This really put a tear in my eyes. Cyberpunk was my first AAA game that I played before I immersed into Destiny 2. The ending where all the people I met in the side mission came to me, at the Aldocaldo ending, it made all the hours I spent in those side mission so much worth it. Thank you for this, spot on.

Been loving it since day 1, I’m 21 now and I’ve been gaming for a solid 15 years and cyberpunk was the first game in a while that really brought back the feeling I had as a kid about being so immersed in a game i couldn’t stop playing, which was surprising because at that point i was in a phase that gaming had lost its allure and cyberpunks story world and gameplay really made me rethink that. Thanks for confirming that i am not the only one.

I have defended this game since day one. There has yet to be a game that touches me like this game. Everytime something new gets announced, I the tingles of anticipation. An instant blast of endorphins that makes me feel happy just because there will be more of Cyberpunk. I still vividly remember where I was 9-10 years ago when this game was first announced with a 48 second trailer. I was hooked right away. Everytime something new came out to tease the game, the giddyness of excitement crept up. I bought a PS5 just to play this game. Maybe my love for a video game is unhealthy and maybe this isn't the game we were truly promised, but Cyberpunk is one hell of a game and it should have set the industry on fire. This is a long comment now so if anyone read thank you. I'll end with this, Cyberpunk was never bad. The real shame is that because people thought it was bad the sequel might be totally different and I really hope that's not the case.
