I know it is a joke but don't let it discourage you. My notebook is also arround that age. Blender is pretty light as long as you're smart on your poli count and textures. You can leave a lot of details for the texture or as 2D drawings over the mesh, I know people who animate faces in 2D drawn over the model with great results. Stylized animation is good for bad computers, it's pretty forgiving, you can get away with simplified forms with much less geometry and much less colors. It's also easier and faster for a begginer (and look much cooler in my opinion). As a begginer you're gonna start with low poli anyway. You can also be smart about rendering like rendering in layers and compositing latter, rendering in lower resolution and upscaling it, reducing light bounces, etc. You can do a lot of cool effects and filters in the compositing without having to render it. You can even turn off light bounces and handpaint the shadows if necessary. If it still too much for it to render you can use a render farm. There are cheap options and even free ones where you can gain points by rendering for other people while you're not using your computer.

And whether there’s multiple people or not, would that really change the fact that he says it’s 10,000 hours anyways. I disagree about the dialogue being good. There's literally someone telling thieving 101 to a supposed master thief.
@richardmartin60693 жыл бұрын
While the animation and choreography was stellar, I too gotta disagree on the dialogue and acting, as it was a bit lack luster. Like the animation team killed it with the fight sequencing, and the characters were discussing through it as if it were no big deal, not a lot of varied emotion other than slightly cocky protagonist and worried over watch, an all too classic cliche. The only time this dynamic is changed is when protagonist does something that overwatch warned them not to do (ie the car exploding) which in turn just swaps personalities of overwatch being cocky and protagonist being worried, which is still the same emotions. Like I’m not asking for much, but maybe a “Damn” when the BBEG pops up, or maybe a bit of fumed frustration when protagonist gets dominated during the final fight sequence to match her cocky character? All you hear in those moments are minor grunting or the “I better be” as if she lost all idea of how to get out of her situation as a THIEF. Like you can’t cut the damn rope that’s on your bike, or jump to across the barrier to an oncoming vehicle to get to safety? Sorry, got carried away, animation was sick tho.
@antonioscendrategattico23023 жыл бұрын
Also I'd say they make the classic mistake of shoving exposition into character dialogue. In general, you should never do that unless it allows you to get some emotional information through. Honestly, they wouldn't even need to actually ADD dialogue to make it better, just cut down on the already existing. I sympathize that it can be hard scrapping some of your work, of course.

This animation looks like RWBY but isn't emotionless and stiff as cardboard. Good job! You really seem to know how to use expressive movement to emote for the characters, and I can get a real sense of who the two mains are without even seeing the other animation. The fighting is fluid, the only critique I can really think of is that in one or two shots I got a bit confused as to what was going on, and perhaps a rethinking of a couple of the angles during the last sequence could fix that easy. Otherwise it was pretty damn good. Hope to see this as a full series someday.

This was fire everything from the innovative ways he uses his tech to the fighting set as well as the choreography I love the fact she doesn't beat the guy like it shows how difficult this person is to defeat and why they haven't been able to catch him the hits could feel a little more solid but besides that Its great adding a futuristic setting with glowing lights allows the audience to follow the combat easier because of the light trails very clever guys I'm so excited to see what other amazing things you all are going to do thank you for creating such amazing works of art

WHAT DID I JUST WATCH?! That was so sick!! The bikes as platforms?! Using them as weapons to attack and a freaking ramp?! What a damn badass and one heck of an animation
@kbarts3162 жыл бұрын
Man, I keep coming back to this animation. It's so darn good. The fight scenes make me think of Monty Oum's choreography. It even reminds me of the later volumes of RWBY based on the art style. I love it!

Fantastic animation, with an interesting story you've started to hint at. Seemed like a big plot jump from the first video, but well done all the same.

@@Dragnsayr-ik7xg Yup, Volume 3, and he's also a good friend of Shane Newville. In fact, Previs Dummies 1 and 2 are from Shane and uploaded here (for reasons I'm not sure about).

Well, it's not like the entire franchise does much in that aspect. Only the Monty Oum and Shane Newville fights are equally as good, and only those moments are the good things about RWBY anyways.

I cant help but think if you guys were still on the team and Monty was alive rvb and rwby would be as good as ever right now. I watched both those series from the start and I must say this gives me nostalgia unlike any other animation studio with the mix of great choreography and humor in each altercation. Im sure If Monty Oum could see this he would be overjoyed and want to make it a show
