It both really nice to see my art up on KZbin, I was pretty proud of the gang pics, especially The Bozos. But I'm so freaking happy for Mike finally getting the recognition he deserves and see his creation be discovered by a whole new generation of fans.

This was SO useful! Thanks Rob. Could you cover a video on Cops? beat cops, private security cops etc... I wanna know what the average beat cop on patrol, who likely comes across things like drugs and violence every second of every day. What would cross that line to make them actually bother enforcing an arrest over?

I grew up breathing all kinds of cyberpunk books, movies, games, and the reference with Gibson's count zero and the voodoo boys just makes me feel like I found my home!

@@CybernationUncensored Np! besides, I went back to read that passage in Count Zero, and indeed Jackie, Lucas and Beauvoir use voodoo almost like a slang/jargon as a metaphor for hacking/netrunning and refer to "Legba" almost as an entity guarding the cyberspace matrix - which would make sense since Legba is the spirit mediating between humanity and the world of the spirits in Haitian Voodoo. I think in an interview Mike Pondsmith said the new Voodoo Boys in 2077 were supposed to be a different gang from the original 2020 voodoo boys, the new ones being with "real" creole/haitian origin taking back their own culture. I can't help but think the CDPR team took inspiration from Gibson for the reborn Voodoo Boys :-)

This was great and pretty useful! I wasn't as familiar with 2020 so it was great seeing some of the gangs change over time. I think now that 2077 has been out a bit longer we probably can see that some comments, like the Voodoo Boys treating cyberspace as a magical place played out (and further like their interest in the Blackwall) while others like the 6th Street turned out to be more of a nationalistic militia to put it mildly. I love how you all were so into the diversity of Cyberpunk and I agree that is very baked into the setting as a whole.

Back Alley Brawlers remind me of the Guardian Angels as well.

right?! I feel like I was the only one to know about the Guardian Angels. I remember seeing them on Jerry Springer when I was a kid lol

@@CybernationUncensored I remember them on Jerry too. I mainly remember them patrolling in L.A. (when I was younger).
