[World's Longest Route] Infinite Flight - TimeLapse | Delhi to SFO | Air India, Boeing 777

A flight in Infinite Flight GLOBAL from Delhi (DEL/VIDP) to San Francisco (SFO/KSFO) in Air India's Boeing 777 aircraft.
The route over the Pacific; through Shanghai and Japan is the usual route on the outbound from Delhi, and is the route I've done for this video. This route over the Pacific takes adds over 2,000km compared to the Arctic route (making it the longest flight by routing in the world), but ends up taking less time.

Some people are confused over the use of World's Longest Route in the title, so I'd like to clear it up. This routing of DEL-SFO, through China, Japan, and the Pacific, makes it the longest commercial flight in the world by distance flown, and only takes 15 hours (strong tailwind over the Pacific) (MEL-LAX is about the same time but it's with 25% less distance). The direct routing to SFO is I believe the world's 4th or 6th longest by distance, which I think SQ's return to Newark will trump this route distance too.

PocketRishi It might the longest route in the world but it certainly isn’t in infinite flight, I’m currently doing the London to Sydney non stop route which covers more than 10,000 miles of land and sea, I’m still flying but its taken me 17 hours just to get to Australia and I still have 2 hours left so it will take me at least 18/19 hours. Definitely the longest flight I’ve done so far in terms of time and distance. I used the Qantas A380 because it can fly for up to 22 hours whereas according to infinite flight 200LR can only fly for 18 hours...

Yes that’s correct and I’ve indeed made a vid on SYD-LHR used the A380, but as mentioned in the comment it’s the longest commercial flight in the world by distance flown, that’s why I used the word route instead of flight in the title (I’ll use flight in the AKL-DOH coming next :)). Yes that’s correct, I think you can push it to the absolute longest with a flight from Dunedin NZ to Inverness Scotland. Yes Doha Auckland is the longest flight by time and I believe direct distance too. Although the route distance that the plane travels for DEL-SFO is the longest in the world for a commercial service (as it goes through Japan through the Pacific instead over Russia as is in the direct routing) if I’m correct this route is 14,200km, and AKL-DOH is around 14,000km barely shorter. Yes I flew with around normal passenger load and 80% fuel, I only climbed 2500 till 10,000 feet and then I did at VS 1,800 till 350. Thank for watching and have a great day hope I answered ur question

My bad I thought this was the Abu Dhabi London Flight, for this I was nervous about fuel so I took around 30 people and about same weight as 30 ppl in cargo and 100% fuel, I climbed quickly in this one so I can get FL360 quickly and reduce drag, even tho I may have used more fuel in total

Exactly coz I have tried doing vabb to ksfo 777 always take more fuel, I did it with 787-10 coz fuel Flow is really low, Now I'm trying vabb to klax with 777lr let c how it works out

how did it go? I was personally surprised by 787-10, I took around 85% fuel (because I sometimes oversleep when I arrive) for a flight to Tokyo from Mumbai, and woke up near Hawaii, was surprised it still couldve gone 4 hours more

Great video.....What many residents in India and some in the USA do not realise is that this route- DEL-SFO-DEL is now the flagship sector and most profitable for AI international ops. So much is the demand that UA is going to start the sector in 2019 and Etihad folded up after AI merely launched thrice weekly in Dec 2015. Desis want a thrice daily flight from SFO to DEL/BOM. When that happens, Emirates can kiss goodbye. LH, BA, AF will still survive but Turkish and others will struggle. So will Chinese and Korean Air.

wow, scene at 1:53 is Imphal, and id love to include Agartala, in fact I was going thru the list and I was going alphabetical order and Agartala was first airport which came into my mind (I think because it was in Indian Monopoly) but I hadnt thought of including it, but now I definitely will include it! List so far with Agartala is of course all the major metros BOM, DEL, BLR, HYD, CCU, and then ill add AMD, Surat, Pune, Kochi, Chennai, Srinagar, Leh or Kargil or both, Lucknow or Patna, Jaipur, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Goa, Mangalore?, and then also 3 pakistani airports, colombo, dhaka. I think this list is unrealistic so as u said might have to make 2 parts. You can’t fast forward anything, just had the tailwind at 100 knots, I did have the iPad on for 13 hours in total but it was on solo so I started at 1am, flew for 1 hour, then paused the game and slept, then in the morning resumed the flight and finished around 12am as i kept pausing in between

Usually is the case for me even when I’m not sleeping, it’s never on the purple line, I’m guessing it’s because of wind or the margin of error for the autopilot. I wish you could pre program the descent

The longest route is Doha to Auckland by Qatar airways. Flying from Delhi to SFO it is not necessary to go from Kolkata. Straight to Dhaka , Kunming (China), Then Shanghai- Osaka - Tokyo to SFO. When plane pass to Tokyo then Full Ocean route. Kolkata is used for Bangkok, Singapore, leading Australian cities. From Delhi to SFO Nepal Airspace can also be used.

Hi thank you for taking the time to comment. Of course AKL-DOH is the longest flight by direct distance and time (I’ve also made vid on that), but the 777 on DEL-SFO flies the most amount of distance for any commercial flight (15,000km, and I also had a pinned comment for this), so it is the longest route in the world by the distance that the plane actually flies. Sorry I didn’t know about the Kolkata thing, I checked PlaneFinder and it showed the plane went through Kolkata so next time if I do this route from Mumbai or something then I’ll remember to go to Dhaka straight.
