Odoo filters help you narrow down the list of records you see in a particular view. They are especially helpful when you're dealing with a large dataset and want to focus on specific information. There are two main types of filters in Odoo:
Default Filters: These are predefined filters that come with Odoo for most models (like Sales or Projects). They often focus on common fields like creation date, stage (e.g., open or closed), or responsible person.

Using Default Filters: Most Odoo views will have a Filters drop-down menu. Clicking on it will reveal a list of available default filters. You can simply select the filter you want to apply.
Odoo typically provides default filters based on common purchase-related fields. These might include:
Date Filters: Filter purchases by "Today," "Yesterday," "This Week," "This Month," etc.
Stage: Filter by the current stage of the purchase order, such as "Draft," "Confirmed," "Ordered," or "Received."
Supplier: Filter purchases by a specific supplier.
Order Number: Find a specific purchase order by its unique number.
Custom Filters: You can create custom filters to suit your specific needs.
These filters allow you to select any field on the model and choose a comparison operator (e.g., equals, greater than) and a value to filter by. You can even combine multiple conditions using AND or OR logic.
Using Custom Filters: You can create custom filters from the Filters drop-down menu as well. Select "Add Custom Filter" and choose the field, operator, and value for your filter. You can also add multiple conditions to further refine your search.
While defaults are helpful, custom filters allow you to get more granular with your purchase data. Here are some examples of custom filters you can create in the purchase module:
Filter by product category: Focus on purchases belonging to a particular product category (e.g., office supplies, electronics).
Filter by order value: Find purchases within a specific price range.
Filter by overdue orders: Identify purchase orders that haven't been received by the expected date.
Filter by payment status: See which purchase orders have outstanding payments.
