Your only 2/3 done with motor mods... A motor is an "air pump" The motor was set from the factory drawing "this" much air in and pushing "this" much air out. The tune gives the motor full power AND a 300 RPM raise. The new exhaust pushes =breaths out with no restrictions. BUT it still cant "breath" more air in....it cant get enough air IN !! Its the restriction now! A high-flow air filter (SPRINT maybe) will free up the rest of the power like with hi-way roll-ons at higher RPMs. Knew you would like it with the mods!!! Stay safe!!

@@ketchupsandwich4084 it is because of the exhaust. Decel popping is caused by the detonation of unburned fuel in the exhaust pipe yes.... Such a dope bike for the money! I used the PV3 on my MT-09 too. The throttle is smoother now and it doesn't engine brake as hard whenever I let off the throttle. I can't wait until email tunes really catch on for motorcycles. In the car world there's a bunch of companies that sell pretty good email tunes for all different cars but it's tough to find tuners that do email tunes for bikes.
@exothermal.sprocket4 жыл бұрын
I think Ivan's Performance Products has a much more precisely dialed tune overall for the bike. It's a mail-in service but the kind of attention to detail and precise dialing the man is known for far exceeds the budget oriented flashers out there. You do get what you pay for. I had a former FZ1 he transformed with a full package. Unbelievable the difference, 21 hp gained, no torque dips, lots of vibration disappeared, throttle control was like a perfect tuned carburetor.
@longossett66714 жыл бұрын
Yep now you get it! You can delete the o2 sensor and plug the air box hose with a dab of silicone calk to stop the pops. Later you can install block off plates when you change the spark plugs but it's not even necessary blocking the air hose does a better job for zero pops.

Total you over many videos of other bikes the Akrapovic full exhaust and an ECU flash was worth your time! Now when you feel like it spend the extra cash for an high flow air filter and that should be the finishing touch. DNA air filters have one of if not the highest flow rates out there. So definitely recommend do that last touch. You would really notice a difference in gears 4-6 and less of a power drop in the top end of the upper rev range.

I did it to my mt09 and good God the power was insane. I would imagine Dyno jet has a map you can install to do that mod. It also has a mod to make b mode less power so it can be riden like a slower cc bike for rain conditions. The power modes can be changed to whatever you like. I recommend a mode super mode then standard mode changed to regular a mode then b mode slow mode.

@CycleCruza4 жыл бұрын
Oh I bet. The reason I refrained from modding the Tuono is because I called Aprilia and they said if I so much as put on a slip-on exhaust it will void the warranty. Aprilia does not like to pay for warranty work, mine was all stock and they would not approve of the 1 hour of labor to fix it when it went into limp mode, the dealership ate the cost. Also, the bike started to do a slight shutter on a rare occasion and I did not trust the reliability. It's a beast bike though, even in stock form. However, I did not like the riding position, high pegs and slight lean on the bars made it odd for long rides. It also produced heat that sucked in the summer. No feeling of heat with this mt-09 at all.
@Critastic4 жыл бұрын
CycleCruza I totally understand, mine was a 2016 1100 factory and it was a beast, but to be honest man I never felt like I could push it to its limits because of how worried I was about the cost of laying it down. Quick question, how do the driving modes work after the tune? Are they still useable and different or are they all the same now?
@motorcycleislife82964 жыл бұрын
All the power modes do is change the rate at which the throttle reacts. A mode being more responsive and b mode taking longer to achieve max speed. They all end up going the same speed at full throttle
@exothermal.sprocket4 жыл бұрын
B-mode caps power after about 5-6K rpm, but also makes the throttle servo slower to respond to wrist inputs. STD-mode doesn't cap any power, it's slightly softened reaction to inputs, a very logical everyday mode with all power available A-mode doesn't cap any power, it's a very agressive reaction to throttle input, similarly to what a throttle-tube cam would do for a cable throttle. Thing about wire throttles, all the ratios can be customized by tuners with ECU flashing. The throttle is simply a voltage signal to the computer, the computer interprets the change and signals the servo which moves the throttle butterflies. Obviously with the ECU telling the servo to run the throttle, having a cruise control is only a program and switch away. But manufacturers are reluctant to put cruise on lower cost bikes (so far), outside of a Duke 890R or Ninja 1000SX.
@motorcycleislife82964 жыл бұрын

Hey cycle Cruza, I just bought a 2016 fz09 from a dealer and it has an m4 exhaust on it. I’m trying to figure out if he already flashed the bike because it pops like crazy on decel and it hits almoooossstt on par with my 2006 R1 off the line. Up top it kinda peters out but I can just drop it to 4th on the highway if I really have to move. Nice video man looking forward to learning some more about it. As far as the wind I live near San Francisco and only after two days of owning it I’ve learned if there is a slight breeze it can translate to an uncomfortable ride on the highway. It gets pretty windy here all the time so I’m gonna try getting tank pads for comfort, maybe a windscreen I’m not sure and a comfy seat.

yeah you loved the yamaha 450 so why not rock more yamaha bikes, sounds good now and I'm glad the throttle is smoothed out theres a mount you can get for your dash to tuck it down nicer btw look it up. Can you do some night riding and talk about the headlight performance? I have the old style headlight 2014 and i put led in it, its pretty good now even at night, how is that design?

Do the air box mod. Takes about an hour, good for a couple hp.

Making me miss my MT09 CC. Glad to see you havin' a blast on it now. If you are looking for some bar end mirrors, look up Kemimoto Motorcycle Handlebar Rearview on amazon. I used those on my MT09. nothing super fancy. 40$. But they are solid,, look pretty good and require no modification to the bar ends. Just clamp em right on with the right teflon spacer which is provided.

That’s awesome. Lol my busa became a total animal with the ecu flash. Power wheelies and all. I don’t have the et in the 1/8th due to stock wheel base but the mph is there. I ran 7.1 @114.

Told you for years that a Proper Akrapovic Exhaust and Tune would be a massive difference. You should do a DNA air filter and finish the job 100% get a Shorai Lithium Battery to drop some weight! You would be Much Happier. TOLD you it would be a Torque Monster!!! Also there's a Digital Sag Tool. You can use that to set your Suspension. You want 5mm of Free Sag. That when you lift the bike up to extend the fork or off the rear shock. Once you sit on it in it needs to compress at least 25 to no more then 30mm after you sit on it. Always work on the rear shock 1st. Last on the rear. If you have increase/stiffen the pre-load. Make sure that once that's done you check the free Sag. Pick up the rear and the Sag to needs to say at least 5mm. If it doesn't you need a new rear spring. Or in your case order the ohlïns rear shock for the proper spring for you weight and set the Sag as I told you before. Repeat this process for the front fork. Grab the front brake and pull it up. You need 5-7mm free sag. Then sit on it. It should drop 25mm to no more then 30mm. Your front and Rear Sag number need to match or the front can be 1-2mm more the the rear for slightly faster turn in. Last setting compression and Rebound. Set rebound first or TEN. Bounce the fork. It should go down, come up, and stop. If it comes up and rock back down the rebound is too soft/fast/strong. You need to Stiffen it but 1/2 turn or 1 click clockwise at a time. Check and repeat until the fork up stroke just stop and does bounce back down. (You should be holding the front brake while doing this.) Now compression. Initial set up with rebound is the up and down stroke should only take 1 second. .5 second to go down and .5 to go up. Repeat this process for rear compression and Rebound/TEN and remember it should rock back down after the up/ rebound stroke. Next put a zip tie on the front fork and clip it. This lets you measure fork travel. Ride the bike and find some good corners at a good rate of speed. Get on the brakes has hard as you are comfortable. Do this a few times. Look at your zip tie (and DO NOT POP Wheelies) if the Zip tie is near the bottom quarter of your fork travel you need to Stiffen compression until that zip tie is closer to the middle of the forks under hard braking for a turn. Once you get that right you are done!

Hey great videoI just put on my Akrapovic exhaust then tuned it. I can I tell if the tune was successful beside the unit doing its thing?

There are apparently adjustments you can make to help the throttle even more. There's an O2 adjustment in the menus some people say works. Do some research and try some stuff.

Congrats cruza! You did the upgrades perfectly. More to mods to come. Lol Tip: never install a windscreen higher than the gauge cluster. That’ll affect wind deflection negatively. Also never install a touring windscreen. Very poor performance. Can cause speed wobble. Also, steering stabilizer is NOT required if suspension setting and tire pressure is correct.

Kudos. Here's someone who knows what's up. I've got a somewhat taller one and the noise around the helmet is ridiculous. Also, the rear shock is the cause for the majority of the handling issues. Too much pro-squat angle (needs lengthened overall), spring too soft (proper sag settings cannot be achieved), damping is nearly non-existent (bouncing, wallowing, compressing under accel, reduced ground clearance in aggressive cornering, understeering out of curves when throttling hard). When the bike is already rear-weight biased, squatting lower under acceleration causes the front to be very light and the road surface "hunts" the tire all over the place. Just add a little bar waggle with aggressive clutching and throttling, or some wind gusts behind a truck and you induce wobble. It's all the rear shock. Front forks aren't that great honestly. Get cartridges, get correct springs, get proper oil weight and levels, set sag, and dial the damping. OEM tires are also plastic.
