On top of the fact that watching it is incredibly boring there’s little to no skill involved. Real drag racers have to train to have perfect throttle and clutch control to get maximum traction all while keeping the car straight and trying not to pass out from the g force. I know some people did high 7 second runs 1/4 with a couple hot-roded forklift motors but it's aint serious - completely road legal Nevera did 8.2, semi road legal McMurtry did 7.9, both on a regular asphalt. I think there is way more potential in electric powertrain than we've seen yet.

The problem with electricity is that you can program it to do anything you want all the way down the track. Which takes a lot of the of the difficulty of racing.
