I wonder if the quick turn around didn't have something to do with the explosion. I know they blew it down. When I was crewing with a top fuel bike back in the days of the AHDRA. The amount of fuel in the oil after every start would turn the oil green . In the pits between passes Oil change. Clutch pack. New Plugs. Check it all over. Start on the line. Heat the tire up and gone. They were very temperamental to altitude and temp changes. Just a storm coming over head could change the set. No computers. Sand cast cases and Plenty of Budweiser..Love the videos

@@cycledrag Back in the late 80's up until 97. I was the crew chief for the Notorious Bobby Page of B&M Cycles out of Southern Maryland. Bobby was fearless! That's what it takes to put 1000hp between your legs. Back then no parachutes. Most of the shut down was feathering the front brake. The technology has come a long way in 25 years. I had the opportunity back then and passed. Wished I hadn't. Today, I'm afraid I'm to old. Hopefully COVID will be in the rear view and we can get together at a race. Disappointing. Considering my 2017 Ducati Panigale 1299 S, last of the twins, runs consistent 9.8 - 9.88 , 0 to 100 4 seconds flat, street legal, 25 M.P.G. stock wheel base, top speed 202 + M.P.H. , GPS verified. only upgrade is Factory Akrapovic titanium race exhaust and MAP upgrade . 402 lbs 198 rear wheel horse. Used and abused daily.
