This tool would have been better demonstrated with tight rim tyre combo and an insert - I damn near broke my thumbs trying to do that in the normal way - so that's why I've got the cycle pal tool. Without inserts I wouldn't bother, personally

Thanks. I think it's probably better suited to the type of tyre fitting where the user has spent a goof 45 minutes trying to rip the skin off their fingers because the bead is too tight. Some tubeless tyre / rim combos are tighter than others.

Won’t argue with that.

Does the cycle pal work on fat tires 9.90 and 4.75

I haven’t tried it but I seriously doubt it. My 2.6 tyres are a squeeze

I think this tool is designed to sell to people who don't yet understand the mechanics of how a tyre goes on. lucky for them that's a lot of people, haha

I read some reports that some guys in bike shops and bike builders found it a god send as they are sometimes doing a few dozen a day. I reckon i can see that it would useful, but there must be a real knack to it that I certainly haven’t figured out in my few attempts at using it.

@@TimFromWales it probably comes into it's own when you get one of those super tight tyre/ rim combos.

@@velomech8139 That's the problem, certain combinations can be arduous to get back on, especially when you're out in the middle of nowhere on your tod, then a certain panic appears when you realise that your phone isn't getting a signal or worse you have left without it. The easiest thing is to carry a couple of Velcro straps to hold one end of the tyre in place, while using a tyre lever at the other end, works a treat and obviously they take up little to no space.

I'm just going to buy one now. I've been removing and fitting tyres on my gravel and two mtbs for ages without 'too' much hassle, usually without the need for tyre levers. However I've just inserted some Rimpact Pros into my tyres for the emtb and buggered if I can get them back on the rim using every trick i know in the book. Two broken tyre levers later, tie-wraps, curse words, and goodness knows what else - I've decided to try these. Wish me luck!

Getting Schwalbe Marathon Plus (20") tyres on/off my Moulton is a b****r (several 'traditional' tyre levers broken), this tool and probably the Tyre Glider look to be just the ticket. And Ive been changing tyres for over half a century.
