Hello sir, Pushover analysis uses the increasing horizontal lateral force of a certain distribution pattern to represent the distribution of the inertial force of the structure. The difference of the distribution pattern will directly affect the results of the Pushover analysis, so the selection of the lateral force distribution pattern is a key problem in the Pushover analysis. I try to ask when I analyze my model in Abaqus based on displacement control, can I give an initial force distribution ? Or how does Abaqus work about that ? Because chosen lateral force distribution type directly affects the result as many features say about that.

Yes, I agree with you that the lateral load aimed at its applied position, the type of load (uniform, concentrated)... should affect the results. To apply this force, you only need to create a part in your model on which there is a point to put the concentrated load, or a line or a surface to put the uniform load. But you should be careful when you convert the real load to the load applied in the model. Good luck!

@@vandangtran6454 Thanks for answering. Actually I loaded my model with displacement control based on Loading Protocol in AISC341-16 (Chapter K). However, my model is so tall which is 18 meters (without scaling)so I could not rely the results. Now, I have two analyze steps, first one is applying axial load and second one is displacement control loading. I try to ask how the Abaqus work ? Can I give unit force distribution to the Abaqus before the displacement loading step to be sure the results' accuracy (like static pushover analysis's MODE 0 in SAP2000) ? I mean, can I give a initial force distribution to the abaqus for using before the applying displacement control analysis (like SAP2000) ?

If you are using cyclic loading then problem will be dynamic implicit, correct me if i am wrong?

In this model, i get a static case. for the other cases, the way you do applying the load, is the same.

good question! i think you should put in a ramp of these high cycles. But to create these cycles, i may use an automatic tool like matlab
