Cumbria. What a fantastic place to ride your bike. Cycling from Sedbergh to Orton via Kirkby Stephen.
It's early January and on today's ride I cycled on some new roads that took me around the stunning Howgill Fells and then over Great Asby Fell where I had a spot of lunch at the Orton Scar Cafe.
If you are a keen cycling enthusiast or are looking to get into this great sport, then I hope that my videos offer you some inspiration to get out there and go for a ride.
I'm a cyclist and I live in the Pennines.

How on earth your not sponsored I do not know, professionally filmed, professional commentary and you have a knack of finding the most out of the way beautiful rides. I’ve taken a screenshot of the route, and like the Tosside ride, I’m determined to do this one come spring. I’m a bit over cautious going out when it’s wet and icy as a fall or break will ruin the rest of the years rides so I tend to stay in doors but as soon as the roads dry I’m off and out riding, but where’s mike 🙁 If you carry on at this rate Daz, I think we’ll all be treated to some great rides by yourself and Mike this year. 👍👍

Thank you Steve. I guess I've a long way to go to get up to Katie Kookaburra's level then, but the truth is, I do this all for a bit of fun where I genuinely want to share my experiences for others. I don't even claim a penny from the adverts. Let alone have sponsorship. I take a lot of inspiration from receiving comments from people such as your self who share their experiences with me and as in your case where you have actually given one of my rides a go on your road back to fitness and recovery. I think that you have made a valid point too about riding in certain conditions, because one "Off" and that's it for 6 weeks or so. Maybe we might cross paths on the Raleigh bikes this year at some stage too. Here's to spring and lighter nights ahead ...

Thank you so much Andrew. I genuinely want to share my experiences for others to hopefully get out there and enjoy a great day out as much as I do, in fact a colleague of mine frequently takes his wife out to these places for a drive in the car where they visit the cafes for a well earned cuppa and a slice of cake.

Ha ha, I'll take that as a compliment. I want to be like you too buddy.....still getting out and enjoying life, no matter what, and age is only a number, if you know what I mean. The handle bars on my Hybrid are easton EC90 carbon and are "Flat" or straight. I have cut them down over time to the point where I wouldn't want to go any further. They are at about 535mm now. I would like them to be a tad wider to reinstate bar end grips to them and still have a comfortable position for bike control and braking. I have had them at over 660mm but I think that is a bit too wide for road work, especially when nipping through busy traffic on the commute.

Great Question Terry, I don't really have one. You know you have had a good day out when you hit around 10,000ft. I've done a few but don't always film them. There's a cracker from Hollingworth Lake which goes all the way towards Holmfirth and back . It's about 80 miles with 110000ft . It's all about turning the hour glass upside down and releasing the energy accordingly.
