Some good stuff there! The roundabout's a work of art, but a lot of narrow obstacle courses.

I have cycled most of the routes that you showed in Cambridge during my 30 years of cycle commuting. A lot of the infrastructure is very new, and the plans for greenways out to the surrounding villages are generally brilliant - you should come back to see what's been built in a few years time! I must also say, that London also seems to be doing a good job of promoting cycling.

I love how I thought a bike turning lane beside a biking straight lane was awesome, only to be braingasmed straight away from a roundabout

I was really impressed by the bike right tun lane too. How great it would be to have this sort of cycling infrastructure where I live in Australia.

@@amandajane8227 heh, American roads have bikes in the same lane, most of the time. Very few places have a small lane beside traffic. I wish cyclist didn’t have to use the same roads as drivers that way. A small highway near where I live, has crossing roads with bikes in the car lanes. I don’t like the dangers that can come with that

Yeah neat right

They mentioned that they had a delegation of Australians over to take a look so ya never know

Be interested to see if shared use paths have priority to cross side roads or not. That's one reason why the bike infrastructure through Walton on Thames town is a failure.

Sadly, many don't, though those installed (or upgraded) more recently tend to be better. Many such shared use paths also have a cycle lane on the road alongside them, so faster and more confident cyclists can still keep up a decent pace. It's not yet fully inclusive (protected) by any means, but it's getting there. A nod to Cambridge Cycle Campaign (Camcycle) for their great representation in and around our city.

If where I lived cycling was that good I’d cycle a lot more
