I visit the old town of Lubeck and then catch the ferry to Denmark. Whilst waiting for the ferry I meet an Austrian chap named Johannus. We.cycle together to shelter by a lake where we set up camp for the night.

In Germany they used the geographical mile, which is defined as one fifteenth of a degree of latitude. This is four nautical miles exactly. The Danish mile was close to that, but not precisely the same.

Danish miles = about 7 km. Swedish miles = about 10 km
