Cycling London - Paris 🇬🇧🇫🇷 solo in 24 HOURS

In August 2014, I decided I'd try and ride my bike from London to Paris within 24 hours - solo. After completing LEJOG a few weeks earlier I was brimming with confidence - however, this was still going to be my biggest ride to date.
I bumped into a cool dude on the ferry who was also riding to Paris but wasn't in as much of a rush as me. We shared the majority of the dark hours together nonetheless. The French roads were superb. The weather was perfect. It was an incredible experience.
Then I spent a few days in Paris and rode back to London too! Those videos will be coming some time in the future!

I did 22.5 hours at my 3rd attempt. My aim is to make it under 20 hours. 😊 It's a tough one with the lack of sleep. In the last 6 years I lost count of how many times I did that route 😉

Great job! I too did a 24h ride just over a week ago. After that, nothing seems impossible. Don't you agree! A friend and i plan on doing paris -amsterdam, probably next year. Keep on showing what vegan can do! Cheers!

What are the stages in time for training did you do prior, or rather also what are your ride times like normally and what was your max ride time prior to going 24 hours? I'd like to try this out this summer as I've been watching alot of from The GCN boys lately, one indoor and one almost to the Scottish border

Vegans just love to wank off their own ego in public when the very concept is flawed unless you grow and eat exclusively your own food and even then you are still consuming animals. You cant be vegan and eat any commercial food you wolly, if you think about it for more than 5 minutes.Its ridiculous life style point for the privileged.

How hard was the terrain between Dieppe and Paris? I want to try London-Paris-London in a weekend (2.5 days) and I'm trying to work out if it will even be possible to do Dieppe-Paris-Dieppe between the Friday overnight ferry and Saturday overnight ferry

Lovely open fields. Not much in the way of steep hills at all. I always remember it as quite flat. Most hills and navigation and traffic always feels like the London - Newhaven section as you go through the Downs. There is also a bike/walking asphalt track from Dieppe which runs for about 50km built on top of an old railway line called the Avenue Verte. I definitely recommend riding that as there is zero traffic and navigation is not required!

What's your 24 hour distance PB?

I did 200 miles in 10 hours 15 minutes which is average for a double century rider who's in decent shape. I'd probably be about 400 miles in 24 hours. I have climbed way higher 29,000+ft ascent and almost as far In less time than your effort. You did good I was just wondering why so slow? Was it the traffic? Your fitness? You sightseeing ?
