Definitely crunchy and mixed with some honey in porridge for the best pre-ride breakfast!

Just found about your channel when you were recently on ACN. Picked this vid because I'm from Seattle & have ridden some of the roads/trails you rode here. Gonna watch the whole series now -- good stuff!

This was great! I did a loop last year with my brother from Victoria down to Port Angeles and then over and up Whidbey, then across to Sidney and back down to Victoria. How'd ya like the climb up into Fort Worden? That was bonkers, I did a little video on that climb alone! The short but very steep hills at the Deception Pass campground were a bit of a shock also. We crossed the bridge pretty early in the morning, about 8am I think, not much traffic so we just took the lane and crossed that way. Anyway, I really enjoyed this one! I just came across your channel today and started with the Pacific Coast playlist so it looks like I've got lots to catch up on!

Hey, glad ur enjoying our channel! Luckily by the time we were in Washington our legs were ready for climbing! But at the beginning of a tour, any undulation is pretty rough on the legs lol

When riding Deception Pass, Stop at the end and wait for a break in traffic then take the lane. Get off asap at the other end, motorist are very nice about it.

Deception Pass Bridge: What prevents the cyclist to take the road. What is the big deal when cars have to drive at 8 MPH form 1‘ minute. People do it all the time on the Interstate San Diego Freeway.
@radbikeadventure2 жыл бұрын
Oh you can do it but it feels dangerous and the (nearly inevitable) honking isn't pleasant. In California it IS legal to take a lane for safety reasons, but on the 5 fwy there is a shoulder where folks ride. Still unpleasant in my mind. Prefer the route thru Pendleton.

Thank you for showing how y'all deal with traffic when it's unavoidable. I'm horrified of being on the road.

That's why I just carry the whole dang jar 😆. We did get some rain (coming up!) but managed to avoid it for the most part. What can I say...we're lucky!

Just curious - what time of the year was this and did you experience much rain? I'm doing some of this same route plus the SJ islands next week (July 4) and am trying to plan. Thanks !

the most underrated thing about cycle touring is eating a lot of junk and it's ok because you basically exercise for 8 hrs every day
