I thought that it can’t be that hard and surely Cameron is fitter than that! So I had a go hmmmmm , perfect weather for January and the leaves where cleared to the side. I did manage to summit but at a whopping 2.9mph and had to sit down at the top as I could hardly stand up. Well done Cameron and thanks for the video, really helped with my prep.

I went to Harlech once, it's got an impressive castle which looks nice in the dark as it's lit up, that road isn't that steep imo plenty up this way, Long Heys Ln by Upholland is a grind..

What a brute of a climb! I couldn't even say that you didn't try with a straight face if I wanted to, cause there was no anyone would get up that without going pretty much full gas. :S Well done, Cam! You aren't exactly featherlight and that's a pretty respectable time tbh. Even Andy deserves some props there, he got pretty far. :D Ps. Andy Nichols, the HC specialist. Yeah... that KOM wasn't going to be taken so easily. :P

It's probably still not the steepest road on the Earth. If once we are talking about unofficial paved roads then according to one or perhaps two videos of The Vegan Cyclist then there are 40-43% slopes on Hawaii's main island.

Also are those 40% slopes in the middle of corners? Because that doesn't count. Bamford Clough is super straight and you can't escape by going around the bend. The gradient is also pretty constant so there is no let off

This was way better than the GCN video, anyway. Shows why it doesn't matter if you're copying them tbf. Also said this the last time you did Harlech, change your fucking gearing, man. You'd have nailed the KOM if you'd ridden a 30 or 32 tooth cassette. The new Dura Ace has at least a 30 tooth cassette, doesn't it? Do yourself a favour.

I've just been there this morning to give it a shot but the leaf covering I far worse now than on your video, I thought I might have a chance to get up with a 34 cassette but unfortunately no traction, funny thing is I walked it all the way to the top and still ended up being around 130 out of 300 😅
